I love the feedback from your readers Paul. I love it when people express their love for a particular artist and, of course, you dear Paul. This place is certainly about love and light because, there is just so much darkness in the world. Here, Burning The Ground is a natural and positive escape from life’s drudgeries and pain. Thank you for providing us with this sonic sanctuary of yours. I love how Kate sings. Haysi Fantayzee were such an interesting band. And their “John Wayne” song was shocking too, hidden by the nursery rhyme lyrics and all. Even “Shiny… Read more »

Beautifully put, dear Jeff. I can only applaud you. I´m so happy I found Paul´s site
only two years ago. Music lovers all around. I love that this site has not taken the route almost each and every forum on the internet takes: know-it-alls insulting each other and spoiling each other´s fun. No, not here – not us.

This has become something of a safety place for me. Thank you Paul and thank you all.

Oh, Song_And_Dance, I love coming into contact with others like you on Paul’s blog. You and so many others are kindred spirits that make this world a better place. And it’s so great to come and praise Paul for his musical presents.

Have a wonderful day and week Song_And_Dance!!!

Haysi Fantayzee were always facinating to watch on Top Of The Pops, John Wayne is Big Leggy being my favourite and Shiny Shiny. I didn’t really know much about Kate Garner’s solo singing career, so thanks Paul for uploading this rare gem. Kate now makes a great living as a famous fashion photographer and artist. Paul do you have Eighth Wonder Featuring Patsy Kensit – I’m Not Scared, it was written and produced by The Pet Shop Boys, This version is the US Promo that has the rare Dub Version. A1 I’m Not Scared (“Little” Louie Vega Mix) A2 I’m… Read more »

Paul at his best yet again. Never heard of that record before. To be honest, she never could sing but that never had to be a hinderance for several other artists 🙂
Interesting song although it sounds as if it was realeased in the early stages of production. It would have needed to be a bit more SHINY SHINY 🙂

Thank you, Paul.

Btw, “John Wayne” was one of the first single records tiny “Song_and_Dance” ever bought from his allowance back then, together with “Come on Eileen” and a few others. Good old times, ey?

Oh, I know her! Well, we have mutual friends. 🙂 Kate is still lovely and has dedicated her life to saving animals and veganism. She’s awesome! Thanks for the rare tracks.

Fantastic record. I do love me some Haysi Fantayzee! Kate attempted a solo comeback about 10 years or so ago, with a Kickstarter-type campaign. She recorded two demos, “Lucifer” and “Sideways Of Red”, to give an example of what her new record might sound like and to attract donations. Both songs were on YouTube last time I checked. Very quirky and much in the style of what I think Haysi Fantayzee might sound like today.

You prove your specialness and uniqueness once again Paul!! My goodness, I am indeed speechless over this post!! As a huge Haysi Fantayzee fan and a bigger fanatic for anything by William Orbit, I am stunned that you have given us a lost classic. I flip-out over these obscure gems. It’s great to listen to them with a modern ear too because sometimes you can have a greater appreciation for older and lost tracks. You are brilliant Paul in your quest to flesh-out so many New Wave/Synth-Pop jams. I feel like I’m in a digital bubble bath when you drop… Read more »

Funny that Haysi featured on UK TV programme at the start of this month on ‘Top of the pops: The story of 1983’. Jeremy Healy appeared but Kate didn’t. I was thinking would have loved to see her talking and what she looked like now. I know about Jeremy as we’re Facebook friends. Loved ‘Shiny shiny’ and never ever knew of any solo career. Or when / why the band split. Many thanks. Interesting that it’s Orbit’s first production work too!
