BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1984
REQUEST
“Missing You” is a song co-written and recorded by English musician John Waite. It was released in June 1984 as the lead single from the album No Brakes. It peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 during the week of 22 September 1984, and number nine on the UK Singles Chart.
Original MTV personality Nina Blackwood said in the book VJ: The Unplugged Adventures of MTV’s First Wave that Waite had written the song about her. She later told the Tampa Bay Times that Waite confirmed this to her after the book’s publication.

Thanks!
You’re welcome Martijn 🙂
Thanks DJ Paul,
great track.
a curiosity: why in some country the 12″ run to 33 1/3 rpm
and in other (especially in Germany) they run to 45 rpm?
which is the best audio quality in your experience (and why this different choices)?
Thanks again.
The US usually pressed 12″ singles at 33 ⅓ RPM and Europe and the rest of the world 45 RPM. Some say 45 RPM sounds better. Here is a pretty good article that explains the differences.

The websitepage you provided is not only informative but highly amusing as well 🙂 if you catch my drift.
Thanks for the link Paul. This helps to explain an awful lot of questions I had 🙂
One of my all-time favorite songs is given a wonderful mix by John Luongo. Paul, I love this 12-inch. For the longest time I’ve been secretly hoping that you might have it in your collection and, if so, someday you’d get to posting it. Well, that day is here and now and I feel all giddy inside. Thanks in advance for another slice of nostalgia for me in your high definition rip. You’re glorious in making our favorites see the light of day!
Jeff
