great , thanks a lot
Now that’s got me wondering whatever happened to Joe Jackson..?
And thanks again to you, Paul 🙂
Thank you so much for this one, Paul! Keep up great work!
expired oh no
Thanks DJPaul – embarrassingly I don’t actually know this song, but I love his track ‘It’s Different For Girls’, which is amazing.
Will check this out. 🙂
Have the album [on cassette, im a bit of a tape head], and I never knew there was a 12″ with a Jellybean remix. So, many many thanks.
Top work as ever Paul, cheers.
Thank you very much Paul.
Paul,
Thanks so much for this! More than one essay has been published about why 1984 is arguably the greatest year in music, ever. Nothing like this song, with its horn blasts, jazzy guitar and slap bass was on Top 40 radio then or ever will be again. That time was so great, when college radio songs became pop music in the U.S.
Love and light!
hi paul,
what a treat. this is one of the few joe jackson singles
that i have. i love the energy in this song, and the remix
is great.
lots of great horn solos, and the breakdowns are cool.
i rarely heard it on the radio, or maybe i heard it a few
times at the most. but it did make a great impression.
i’m glad you have such a great variety of groups and
singles. you never know what is going to show up.
thanks again,
later

This is a great song by JJ. I was surprised it didn’t chart better in the UK. Jellybean remixes are an added bonus here too.
Thanks Paul 🙂
Thanks Paul!
You’re welcome, Dennis 🙂
Thanks for the rip, Paul! Gee, I don’t think I’ve heard this song since probably 1984! Seriously! I, like others here, never knew there was a 12″ with both a remix and dub!! The song is also very similar (to my ears at least) to Rock The Casbah by The Clash. Thanks so much again and have a great weekend!!
You’re welcome, Fred. This one never gets any radio love it’s usually “Stepping Out” that gets played even though You Can’t Get What You Want (Till You Know What You Want) was a top twenty single. I will have to listen again to see if I can hear The Clash. Have a great weekend 🙂
Yes Paul, you ROCK!! Never knew of a 12-inch mix, and a Jellybean one to boot!! This is great for an Autumnal drive. Thank you so much for your big 12-inch collection!! Size, indeed, does matter!!!
Have a fabulous weekend Paul, Song And Dance, and the rest!!!
Jeff
You’re welcome, Jeff. Have a nice weekend 🙂
My favorite track from Joe Jackson… Thank you Paul!!
You’re welcome, Retro Hound 🙂
A classic of a classic, good recording, excellent work PAUL, thanks Bro!
You’re welcome, Eduardo 🙂
OMG! I’m one of those who ‘seconded that emotion’ on a recent post of desiring this, and it’s amazing to see it pop up a few days later. Thank you Paul, you rock!
You’re most welcome, Grant 🙂
Also, my fave Joe Jackson song 🙂
Thank you Paul. Another great Jellybean mix. “Steppin’ out” is my favourite by Joe Jackson but unfortunately there was no 12″ mix issued. A Jellybean mix of Steppin’ out would have been great! Have a great weekend 🙂
Have a great weekend, Daniel 🙂
I´m quite sure I´ve never heard this 12inch version. What a treat. I´ve never been a huge fan of David Ian “Joe” Jackson´s but there are a couple of songs I really like. “Steppin´ Out”, of course, and this one. I´m looking forward to listening to the dub mix. Thank you very much, Paul, for this early weekend gem / jam. 😉
You’re welcome, Song And Dance 🙂
