Burning The Ground Exclusive 1988
“Supersonic” is a song by American female rap group J.J. Fad from their debut album of the same name.
The first recording of “Supersonic” was released in 1987 by the original line-up of J.J. Fad as the B-side to “Anotha Ho” on Dream Team Records. The new line-up re-recorded and released “Supersonic” in April 1988 as a single; this version reached number 10 on the Billboard Hot Dance/Club Play Songs and number 22 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart. “Supersonic” stayed on the dance charts for eight weeks. The single was certified gold by RIAA, and also got nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance in 1989, making them the first all-female rap group to be nominated for a Grammy award. They lost the award to DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince for “Parents Just Don’t Understand”.

This song is a classic in Brazil.
Thank you, Paul!
Thanks for this classic, Paul! I always thought that Baby Got Back sounded very similar to the chords played at 4:06 in the remix of Supersonic. Anyway, thanks for the hard work and post!
Ah, the memories keep flooding back!!! Thought it was interesting that Dr. Dre was involved in this. So cool of you Paul to list the full credits on these records. So many compilations leave out these details.
Please keep going with this genre. My ears are having a blast!!
Jeff
