Hey Paul – meant to tell you yesterday that by chance just before your post I was listening to an interview with Paul Morely (Art of Noise, ZTT, FGTH, etc…) who’s just done a book with and all about Grace Jones.

Interview is part of Jarvis Cocker’s Sunday Service, and starts at 35.15 here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06kgz4j

(Hope they let you listen from the US!)

Thanks Paul. A very fun song! How random that a satellite channel would go to the effort of getting Grace Jones to record a song for a season of films they were showing. Still, worth the effort!

Supposedly she’s been working on it for a while now. She hinted at a possible release around this time last year, but being such a perfectionist could mean it takes another year or two before it sees the light of day. In the… Read more »

Interesting find Paul. Can’t recall hearing this ever before, but I think the song was good enough to get a commercial release, the mixes were just right for 1996. Why wouldn’t they list producers or remixers? Maybe the Sci-Fi Channel had no idea that they should credit them on the sleeve or the remixes were done by an unknown producer who tried to mimic some of his famous colleges. But the mixes sound very well made, so I’ll just take a guess with a few names. Fright Night Mix sounds like Todd Terrys work. It’s very similar to Everything But… Read more »
