Any chance of a re-up?
In 1977 “Cold As Ice” was released as the 3rd single from their debut album FOREIGNER. This is the 7″ top 40 remix with the orchestra, French horns, and just an overall hotter, punchier mix.
Why is the 24 bit rip no longer available for download?
What the heck is going on at 0:16? The piano part plays completely wrong chords, apparently cut and pasted from another part of the song. Did it really get released like that?
Thanks for letting me know. There was an accidental cut and paste that occurred during my editing. I have fixed the problem so if you want to re-download the files you can. Thanks for letting me know about this.
Thanks for uploading the fixed copy, Paul. Honestly, I knew something was wrong but it was so smooth I actually thought it may had been released that way!
*In my Captain Jack voice* WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?!?
Too het’ro for me! :-p
Great rip, Paul! Although a 70s kid, I remember this more fondly in the early 80s. I have the Records compilation and I think this is the same mix. If anyone knows the original mix on Youtube (I couldn’t find it) to compare that would be great. With the studio acappella widely available on Youtube I’m surprised there haven’t been any quality remixes done non-commercially.
Thanks so much, Paul, for a nice treat!
-Fred
Thanks, Fred good to see you 🙂
Oh wow! I’ve had this on 12″ since it was released and have looked and waited in vain for it to be available in HQ. This remix is always ignored on Foreigner compilations. Thanks so much!
You’re welcome, Eric happy I had it to post 🙂
Had the double gatefold 7-inch of this back in 1985, now long gone.

Thanks for the smiles, Paul.
You’re welcome, Chris 🙂
I always loved that song. Didn´t know about this remix. Have to check also the “Action mix” of “Reaction to action” on the flip side. I think it´s the same mix as the one you posted “Vocal/ Long version”. Thank you so much Paul. Keep the rock songs coming 🙂
You’re welcome, Daniel. You are right the “Action Mix” is the same.
Thanks so much for posting this. I know not everyone likes the addition of the orchestra, but I’ve always preferred this version. And your version sounds so much better than the version that’s on their “Records” CD.
Thank you, Dave. I prefer this version too.
How often you take me back Paul. Wasn’t aware of this single and I am looking forward to hearing it to see if I can spot the differences to the original. This band I’ve always liked with the great melodies and hooks. Thanks a lot for presenting a twist on an old chestnut.
Jeff
You’re welcome, Jeff 🙂
