10 days after this great post, we had the sad news of the death of George Young, voice, producer and writer of Flash And The Pan (and brother of the other ‘Youngs’ from AC/DC).
One of the most hypnotic 80s extended versions. Fantastic build-up starting with that Linn drum. It was huge in Germany, peaking at no.7, staying in the charts for 18 weeks. Excellente
choice and in BTG HQ. Precious.
So finally the iconic Australian band makes its debut in BTG! Thank you very much Paul, I hope that in your huge collection you also have “Ayla (Disco Mix)”.
Thanks my Vinyl Master 🙂
You’re welcome pjanus 🙂
Great post. The extended is widely issued on cd but not the instrumental, so a nice addition!
You’re welcome Martijn 🙂
of course it is!https://www.discogs.com/fr/Flash-The-Pan-The-12Inch-Mixes/release/4085079
I love me some classic New Wave Paul!! You always bring the old classics back into the light of day and this makes me forever grateful! PLUS!!! We can always rest assured that the quality will be stellar. You are like this sonic jeweler in that you “mine” all these gems, and “polish” them to perfection. There’s so much beauty in the beats with you DjPaulT!!!!!
Sigh,
Jeff
Thanks so much Jeff 🙂
Thanks Paul. I love this song. Do also own this 12″. It’s good to get the Instrumental Remix in pristine sound.
You’re welcome Daniel 🙂
