I don’t know if you take requests, but I was just wondering if by any chance have this rare PROMO:
Chris Rea – The Road To Hell (Parts I & II) Geffen Records – PRO-CD-3874
https://www.discogs.com/Chris-Rea-The-Road-To-Hell-Parts-I-II/release/3220435
It’s the only copy featuring the shortened “The Road To Hell (Parts I & II) (U.K. Edit)” that is 6:49 minutes long as opposed to the original 9-minute version.
I always just assumed that this was an Italian artist, since it was common for Italo Disco artists to assume English names, e.g. Den Harrow!
Great rip, as always!!! Thank you!!!
Love the Italo-Disco ride you’re taking us on, Paul! I sure do hope you can circle back to Baltimora again with “Running For Your Love”, but maybe also German synthpoppers Cetu Javu? (Was on Italo-Disco label ZYX along with Paul Lekakis, etc) “Have In Mind” would make a great rip too. Sure folks would love it.
Thanks, Goodguy I will certainly see what I can come up with 🙂
Back in the day in Germany that song was played to death in Discos around the Ostsee (Baltic Sea). Italo Disco in the mid eighties was totally en vogue and there was high quality material released
eg. Max Him, Ken Laszlo, Scotch, Ago, Fun Fun, Valerie Dore…
For my Taste Italo Disco is a bit underrepresented on Paul`s excellent Site, probably since most of their material is pretty unknown in the US.
Stefan
There were a few Italo artists that had hits in the USA I just never really collected them. I will do my best to add more to BTG. 🙂
Hey Paul, I don’t know this one but it would be something I’d buy just based on the cover. Very interested in checking it out.
Jeff
If you like Italo you’ll like this one Jeff 🙂
