“Something In My House” Clean & Dirty Mixes is a rare 1986 UK 2-track white label promo-only 12″ featuring the “Mortevicar Mix” and the now legendary “XXX Naughty Mix” with explicit samples from The Exorcist. This 12″ was pressed to only 500 copies and was distributed by Dead Or Alive after Epic Records refused to release it.

Beautiful, Paul! Just another wonderful, piece of art from the so sadly departed Pete Burns. Thank you for taking the time to share this with us!! Grateful as always, QT
Thank you, Paul!
Quick side question for you, Paul: I have a rare White Label with ABBA samples. Is it easy to “fix” this recording and if so, which program should I use: WeTransfer Link
The volume drops a bit around the 2:09 minute mark on track 1 and there are some pops.
Hi Martika,
Thanks for reaching out to me. I use Adobe Audition 3.0 to manually remove the pops/clicks and fix audio drop-outs. I am sure there are other programs out there but Adobe is the one I am familiar with and have been using for many years. Sometimes those really deep pops are hard to remove. I also use another program called iZotope RX mainly for resampling and dithering. Hope this helps.
I’ll give that a shot. I love finding old white label pressings and would love to at least make them sound decent, albeit not quite as spectacular as your transfers!
Love it! nice one this…

You’re welcome, Martyn 🙂
We’re not worthy, Lol!! Sneaking this rarity out on a Saturday, thank you thank you! Dead Or Alive – so underrated and unfairly lumped in with other one-hit wonders. I think I missed your original post, so thank you again for this new transfer!
You’re very welcome, retro Hound. I hope you frightfully enjoy this one 🙂
Thanks for this version i never knew it existed until i saw you upload it.
Im from Australia so we didnt always get the cool stuff out here, thats why i always look forwards to seeing an email in my inbox from you.
Im a Dj like yourself slowly going though my old 80s 12 Inch vinyl’s.
Thanks Paul
First of all, I love my Aussie readers. Thank you for being part of the community 🙂
Goose Bumps for the weekend, eh, Paul!?! “Something In My House” is probably my favorite song by Dead Or Alive. I loved it immediately and I feel that it’s one of the best Halloween songs around!! Pete Burns looks so Gothic on the cover of the album, “Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know,” a great reference to poet, Lord Byron. Yes, the Devil is an Englishman and Pete Burns was quiet the devil too!! Love his performance in the video, preening diabolically on his elaborate throne!! Paul, bless your black heart for this naughty mix too. Those “Exorcist” samples are… Read more »
You’re welcome, Jeff. This track and especially the two mixes here is the quintessential Halloween track. Enjoy if you dare 🙂
Truly a creepy song with the samples.
I still have your old rip, so I can’t wait to see how the new transfer improves on the older copy. I absolutely love both versions of this song, but the version with all the “naughty” EXORCIST samples is the best! Too many songs are considered naughty, but this one might be the only one that actually deserves the label. I just watched the new Exorcist Believer last night, so the timing of this post is impeccable … lol … THANK YOU, PAUL!
You’re welcome, Martika. I hope this is an improvement over the old transfer. I saw Exorcist Believer a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Have a great rest of the weekend 🙂
