BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1983
REQUEST
“I’d Do Anything” is a song written and recorded by English band Dead or Alive. It was co-produced by the band and Zeus B. Held and released in January 1984 as the third single from Dead or Alive’s debut album Sophisticated Boom Boom.
The song was the third consecutive single by Dead or Alive to miss the UK Top 75, hitting number seventy-nine in the UK Singles Chart. The band’s fortunes would reverse with the release of their next single, a cover version of “That’s the Way (I Like It)”.
Of note “Anything Dub” will not appear on the forthcoming Dead Or Alive box set “Sophisticatred Boom Box”.

Do you by any chance the entire BOOM BOX 19-CD set and are willing to post it?
So sad to hear about Pete. This has been a terrible year.
Paul,
Thanks so much for this rare treat. Just like many others here, I pre-ordered the box set but am thrilled to download this to complement. Also, I don’t know about the audio quality of the box set (fingers crossed for no brickwalling) but I’m sure your rip will sound terrific! Thanks again.
You’re welcome CakeSaint. I am also hoping the audio is good also hope the DVD is region free 🙂
THANK YOU!
You’re welcome Shannon 🙂
Another great post Paul, it’s amazing what records you have.
Today it’s 30 years since Duran Duran’s single Notorious was released, any chance of a post on this fantastic band.
Thanks John. I will see what I can do 🙂
Thanks Paul!! I cant wait for Boom BOX!!!
You’re welcome Cdmaniac 🙂
Awesome. Can’t help wondering how much more DOA left in your collection to rip. Might not be much point after next week. I too have the box set on order! Worth EVERY penny of a mere £101.14 (with signed print).
I still have several singles.
Wow that’s pretty incredible. Can’t be much missing from your DOA collection!
Thanks Paul! I appreciate you adding this to your blog. I too, have ordered the Box, so feel free to post whatever else isn’t included…probably quite a bit, lol! 🙂
You’re welcome RA I think it’s mostly pre first album material that isn’t on the box i’ll have to research it more.
Statistically, it’s been proven that it’s not possible to have too much Dead Or Alive.
Yes i saw that report too!
Thank you Paul!! This certainly whets the appetite for the Dead Or Alive box set, especially since, as you wrote, the dub version of this song isn’t on the set!! I am really pumped when it comes to Dead Or Alive. You see, the Sophisticated Boom Boom era was my favorite of them. Although I do love their other albums and singles, it’s this Zeus B. Held produced album that really gets my blood flowing. You are too good to us for providing us rare treats. I am really looking forward to the flip-side.
Jeff
I loved this era of the DOA also Jeff they sounded a bit more like a band not quite as synth. 🙂
Thanks Paul. I have already pre-ordered the upcoming Sophisticated Boom Box. Love DOA and your perfect vinyl mixes. Hope you can post That’s The Way I Like It next?
You’re welcome Omar 🙂
Yay!! Two of my requests in one week? I feel so honored. I’m sure PLENTY of people are interested in this one, as the “Anything Dub” was inexplicably left off the upcoming box set, and “Give It To Me” didn’t make it on the deluxe re-issue of the album a few years back. Thank you thank you thank you!
You’re welcome David 🙂
