Interesting! I remember seeing photos of David Burrill in one of those gay “adult” magazines back in the ’80s or ’90s, but I never knew he made records, too. This is very cool to hear! It was very hard for those gay porn stars back then to ever go “legitimate,” so kudos to him for trying. It would be interesting to find a collection of gay adult film stars who went on to have recording careers — whether successful or not. I know Colton Ford recorded some songs back in the early 2000s, and he was pretty good. I don’t… Read more »

I think you will find the entertainment industry is all about sex-sells, just like any advertisig. One way to get in there is to sell ya body. No need for searching, they will find you. Just be available.
Now let’s see if we can make some money together.
Dance for me!

there’s colton ford, johnny hazard, dean monroe and apparently, at some point, jeff stryker!

(note the the age of the article results in it not loading completely)

and, of course, quentin elias, who was a singer/performer with the late-90’s french boyband “alliage” BEFORE getting into the visual media arts.

happy pride!

“Burrill also worked in gay adult films in the 1980s” Welcome to 2019 where that statement is but an afterthought and not something of shame 🎉

Do these recent posts mean a change of direction in Burning The Ground or is it just a “special” week dedicated to the gay community?

Thanks for posting this! I was recreating one of my playlists from 1991 and needed this. Since I lost the vinyl a long time ago, I was about to use a YouTube rip. Thanks so much!

I bought my original copy at Oak Lawn Records in Dallas in 1991 as well. What a great store and great memories!

Thank you!

Michael

Great photo too: Summer Is Here!! Thanks again for bringing out the best Hi-NRG records Paul, the ones that are new to a lot of us.

I really love this track a lot Paul. And your Burning The Ground site has a huge spectrum of music for fans of varying musical tastes. It’s always a musical journey and smorgasbord of sonics that delight on so many levels.

Hey, check out David Burrill on an old episode of The Joan Rivers Show. Very, VERY ENTERTAINING!!!
