I am a big Hall and Oates fan, and I have this one on vinyl, this very same 12″, but it’s in storage, so it will be nice to hear it from here…. I don’t remember what the (Special Rock Mix)was like, so it will be good to refresh my memory. Thanks Paul!
Hey Paul,
I like this version better the one on the 12″ Collection (Japan – 7 min version). It matches the 5:21 from the Greatest Hits Part 1. Thanks very much Paul.
Kent 🙂
Thanks for the upload. The 7 minute Special Extended Version remains my favorite though, and one of the best tracks of the 80s.
I was pretty sure I own a different edition and had to check – yep, it´s the 7:03 remix version b/w I Can´t Go For That (remix). I love Hall & Oates. Thanks, Paul.
Thanks my Vinyl Master 🙂
Awesome! I try to see H&O live whenever they come to NY, they put on a great show! Just saw them last month with Tears For Fears (another favorite) in Forest Hills Queens. Great show!
🙂

Wow Paul this post just blows me away. This is my favorite Hall & Oates single together with “Maneater”. These 2 remixes are totally new to me and sound great! I only knew about the Extended Version which is 7 minutes long. Paul you are an angel that let every dream come true. What a fantastic week going on. I’m drowning in musical ecstasy.
Thank you Daniel. Be sure to come up for air lol 🙂
You really take me back Paul!! Daryl Hall & John Oates are very, very special to me. I got really obsessed with them too at one point. As for this track, it is especially dear to me as well. I can’t wait to hear your rip of this one. Your postings of their material has been a godsend to me. You always seem to choose all the best songs and/or versions available. Thanks so much for this gift! Jeff Bonus Beats: Speaking of obsessions, I love INXS so much and your representations from the band are outstanding Paul. I’ve made… Read more »

One of my favourite Hall & Oates singles. I only know the 7:07 Bob Clearmountain mix. Don’t think I know the Jellybean mix, so very curious about this US 12 inch. Thanks Paul, very nice post.
You’re welcome Stefano 🙂
