Culture Club – I’m Afraid Of Me (UK 12″)

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1982

A. Front

Re-Rip Newly Remastered!

Originally I posted this one on June 5, 2010. But for those who may have missed it or if you are a new reader just discovering BTG. I decided to give this one a new rip with my newer Ortofon Super 30 stylus. This 12? is also being posted in 24 bit flac for the very first time!

“I’m Afraid Of Me” was the second single released from Culture Club’s debut LP “Kissing To Be Clever”. I’m Afraid Of Me also suffered the same fate as Culture Club’s previous single “White Boy” and failed at radio peaking at only #100 in the UK.

Hi DjPaul, There are two tracks on the Kissing To Be Clever album with a similar title. Track 1 is “White Boy ( Dance Mix)”, which is the debut single that you mentioned. But the one I was talking about was Track 8 “White Boys Can’t Control It”.

Thank you for this one. The track from ‘Kissing To Be Clever’ album “White Boys Can’t Control It” should have been a single, it was played quite a bit on FM radio in Australia.

One of my favorite CC tracks & a great 12″ too!
I’ve always loved the cover art also, too bad they didn’t use the other CC logo of the time though it was much better.
I’ve heard a couple of snippets of the new tracks & they sound very promising!!!
Cant wait for the tour & new album!!

The ones I’ve heard are classic reggae…YUM!
George seems to leave the more club stuff for his side projects & himself.
Take Care,
CDM

On 22nd August 2011 you assembled your new OM30 stylus. All the posts prior to that date are long dead or still working OM20 posts (and a few of them are even more inferior OM10 posts). So very good idea to take up the old long dead Culture Club posts and give them a re-rip treatment!

One fine day all posts will be re-ripped 🙂
