Hi, BTG community,
I hope you are all doing fantastic! There are a few things I wanted to talk about first regarding 24-bit files. These files are only available for seven days; after that, they will no longer be available. If you enjoy grabbing this format, I suggest subscribing to BTG so that you can be alerted every time I make a new post. You can also follow BTG on one of our social media platforms, Facebook or Instagram.
These files are available for only seven days because of their larger file size; unlike the 16-bit files, I cannot host 24-bit files for an extended period on my server. I also typically leave the 16-bit files active for about three years, and then at the end of each year, I remove one year’s worth of 16-bit files to make room for another year of uploads. This keeps my hosting service happy since I am on a shared server and not using as much space.
Burning the Ground has been around since about 2008/09, and during that period my vinyl transferring skills and equipment have changed, so periodically I revisit older posts, especially those five years or older, and give them a new transfer. I love looking back at what I have posted in the past giving some of those records, in my opinion, an upgrade.
Many emails ask me to re-upload old files or send download links. I do not send links or files. I spend many hours working on new records, so I rarely have time to send out old files or links to everyone who asks for them.
Emails or private messages on social media are something that I try to answer, but I admit that I don’t always do so because of the number of them that I get each day. I do try to read each email or message. I apologize if I don’t answer yours right away or at all.
Many answers to questions can be found in the site’s FAQ.
I also love hearing your comments, so I always encourage you to leave comments. It is a way to engage with others who share your same interests in 80s and 90s remixes, and it helps build our community. I would love to see some new names in the comments section.
A reminder that the first week of April 2024 we will be having our spring fundraising drive, so just a heads up for that. I hope that you can help support BTG during that time.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this. I hope it answers some questions.

Thank you, David 🙂
Thank you Paul! So appreciate you! I love the classic post punk 12 inches like New Order but always grab the obscure stuff as well!
You’re welcome, JoshM. Thank you for commenting 🙂
I usually only download 16bit files, but i think it’s cool you offer a 24bit option for those that want them.
I should be able to donate next week during the fundraiser, but i gather a donation is accepted any time of the year.
Thanks for all you do, Paul 🙂
You’re welcome, Marco. Absolutely donations are accepted all year. 🙂
Porfavor podrias subir el maxi de howard jones la cancion “New Song” y el de Lipps inc el remix de “Designer Music”
By my new estimate Paul has uploaded 2400 transfers over the years. WOW!!! My sincere Gratitude for all you have done.
Paul – I recently “scoured” the web and now have simple text string that used in web search will allow anyone with a bit of desire and tiny bit of tech acumen to find approx 2200 of your past rips.
i will not post it unless OK with you. BTW if you want it simply email me.
Thanks, rift. I knew I had posted a lot but did not have a roundabout number. If you don’t mind send me the link using the contact tab. I would prefer you not post the link publically. 🙂

Love the dance music! Would you please post more 70s dance? Would bring back those days!
I used to have a “Disco Friday” where I would post something Disco from the 70s every Friday. I may consider doing that again.
That would be awesome! Thank you.
SIr Paul! first of all many thanks for all the work that BTG involves we all really appreciate this, about the re-update of old posts, oh man we understand you are focused on the new materials but seriously think on an exclusive fundraiser just in order to can have all old materials for those who are “new” followers of BTG, if you can’t do the HIRES version because the work that this represents is ok but at least the original files uploaded at the moment, but if this is impossible don’t worry, we perfectly understand, thanks again for the music… Read more »
Gracias Sergio. I will consider this 🙂
Awesome!!
Wow, Paul. I think this was a great missive to your community here. You’ve answered many questions one could have concerning the Burning The Ground site. I think it’s great that you emphasized subscribing, so no one will miss a post. Also, folks should read/reread the FAQs to your site. It’s such a help with background, information and requests, etc. Looking forward to your fundraiser too. It’s a great way to send support for all you do and to show some gratitude for your generosity. It really helps maintain the site, equipment and purchase records for requests. Thank you, Paul,… Read more »
Thank you, Jeff, for all of your enthusiasm and support I appreciate ya. 🙂
Wow, since 2008! Congratulations Paul! What an amazing body of work and the love you put into your site with meticulous passion is tremendous! I and I’m sure all of us can’t thank you enough! I’ve missed and even lost many of your 24 bit and 16 bit transfers but never requested any of them again again, because I know it’s been tough dealing with the immense amount. I think I found your site sometime in 2010, or earlier and I know you’ve had issues with storage and it looks like you’ve found a consistent solution. Have you considered using… Read more »
Thank you, Gary Z, for the suggestion, and your longtime support for BTG. I will give this some thought 🙂
Dear Paul, your rips are simply fantastic, so many singles & EP’s that bring us back to a wonderful era, I’d like to thank you for your labour of love !!
Thank you, gnihtytterp, for taking the time to comment I appreciate it so much 🙂
Hi Paul!, to revisit old rips would be fantastic! Thank you for all your efforts and love to share music. Your site is amazing!!
Thank you, Fernando 🙂
dear Paul,
I subscribe to RSS so I am always able to keep up with the latest posts.
Thanks again!
You’re welcome, hato 🙂
Been following since the early days….. thanks DJPaul
You’re welcome, Edward Ko 🙂
Many thanks for the incredible work that you do. You’ve introduced me to so much great music that I would have otherwise missed.
If you do have a list of records you may revisit some day, I’d appreciate it if you could add John Paul Young’s Love Is In The Air. You featured it many years ago and your site is the only place I’ve ever been able to find the original length album version. Even his CDs now only have the short single edit.
You’re welcome, DaveR, I have that one on my list 🙂
That’s all very fair Paul, your excellent work is always appreciated 👍
Thank you 80’sGuy 🙂
Thanks for immaculate and fantastic service!
You’re welcome, Hans Nilsson 🙂
Hello Paul, good morning, I’m asking you, is it possible that you can share this song from Rocky Burnette – Tired Of Toein_ The Line, it would mean a lot to me. Thank you
