Thanks Paul. This is very much an 80s defining track to me. And that’s before i had a good look at the front cover 🙂
Great song. As ever thanks for all your hard work, Paul 🙂
great song!! i´m fan Thanks paul
I was singing this song for the las month! We are connected man…
WOW… great song Paul.
This, along with the other two singles from the first album, was a bit hit here in Holland. Great to hear the extended version in great quality. Again, thank you very much Paul!
Their first 2 albums are gorgeous…timeless.
Thanks Paul!
I first heard Cock Robin when they cracked the US Top 40 with the tender mid-tempo ballad When Your Heart Is Weak in 1985. I immediately bought the album based on that awesome single. Then, they followed it up with The Promise You Made, which strangely did nothing in the US but, as mentioned earlier, is their breakthrough in Europe. Such an awesome pop-rock duet, and the Potoker Mix here gave it a club edge. This is another favourite of mine for 1986. Cherry Pop will release a remaster of their album with remixes. Hi! Thanks for your fantastic work ! Just a few notes about Cock Robin … In fact, the band released twice this song “The Promise You Made”. While the first release went confidential, they had a great success with their second single “When Your Heart Is Weak”… That’s when the Record Company decided to Re-release the song as the “second official” single… Big idea they had, because it became their major success ! Cock Robin is an american band which achieved success in Europe only… After the first album, the band reduced drastically to only Peter Kingsbery and Anna LaCazio,… Read more »
You’re welcome kiki thanks for the info 🙂
Not exactly an exclusive, I’m afraid, as the same disc was posted a few days ago on the eightiesvinyl blog. Only in mp3 over there, though…
When I say “Burning The Ground Exclusive” that means that you can be sure that I ripped the record myself. Some other bloggers search the internet and post stuff from other sites. Not on BTG all rips are ripped by me.
This is one of the greatest 80s songs out there. Really beautiful sound. Excellent post! 🙂
Thank you Woz 🙂
Thank you Paul!!! Nice song.
You’re welcome Guss 🙂
Hello: This is a great song, i still have the Cd (first edition CBS) released in 1985, like the compact discs of 80′ & 90′ have a good sound, however the vinyl rip that DjPaulT have published is AMAZING!
Thank you Eduardo 🙂
Myriad thank you’s, Cock Robin is a sorely overlooked 80s band.
I agree Denniz 🙂
thank you very much.nice week
You’re welcome Lordofvhs 🙂
