Yes, thank you indeed! Here’s hoping more Charlie Sexton will make an appearance 🙂
thank you ! 🙂
OMG! Thank you SO much for this rarity, Paul! I’ve been looking for this for some time on mp3, with no luck. Imagine my surprise to see this today when I clicked on your website! Shep Pettibone rules!
thanks, i’ve never seen this one before, now i’m one song closer to that beverly hills cop megamix i’ve been wanting to make!
feanor I hope you’ll let me hear it when you are finished =)
Never knew this was a single too, and with a Pettibone Remix! This is another of the many reasons why I love your blog, Paul! I was talking about the hits and the minor hits yesterday, so this would qualify as a non-hit then? LOL! And, this MCA-Beverly Hills Cop franchise is really cutting the production cost by having the same single sleeve (in different shades)! But speaking of Charlie, when he first burst into the scene with Beat’s So Lonely (FANTASTIC Rock Remix btw), he was hailed as a young Springsteen and THE Next Big Thing. Funny thing this… Read more »
Ric I actually bought this single just for the cover 🙂 I always liked Charlie too bad he didn’t have more success.
Great post Paul, I had been looking for this 12″ online for about two years and eventually gave up and bought a copy from Discogs, unfortunately I am only starting to teach myself how to convert vinyl to digital so I’m sure my rip won’t be as good as yours. I did use your equipment as a guide though and picked up the Bellari Preamp, so far it has been fantastic Bellenger1981 – You might like to check out this Japanese CD I picked up which had remixes of Impressed and Beat’s So Lonely…http://www.discogs.com/Charlie-Sexton-Mixed-Impressions/release/2013412 Ignore the price for the one… Read more »
Brent1967 you’re welcome. Glad to see you giving vinyl ripping a go. I absolutely love my Bellari Preamp I am sure you will be very happy with it 🙂
Breant, I came across that “Mixed Impressions” Japanese EP CD. The price of $117.00 scared me away (as you can imagine). I’ll check out that Ebay listing. Thanks!
… And the rarities continue! Awesome, Paul! Thank you for this post and the 24-bit FLAC! I would love to see more posts from Charlie, such as the 12″ of “Hold Me” with the “Live Version” (never released on CD). The 12″ pressings of “Beat’s So Lonely” and “Impressed” would be nice additions to the blog as well if you have them. Thanks again!
You’re welcome Bellenger1981. I will see what I can come up with my friend
Your rip is excellent quality. Thank you.
