Thank you very much Paul.
Those boys are Hot! Hot! Hot! Thanks for posting Paul, I barely remember these guys, so I will have to listen to refresh my memory, but they are sure pretty to look at.
Hi Guys, I haven’t posted on here for quite a long time now, due to other commitments, but I do go online each day to take a look at this fantastic website and i’m such an avid fan of all Paul’s hard work and the sheer perfection he takes to give such wonderful mixes for us ALL to upload. I have always been totally impressed by the awesome friendliness on this site. We are all music lovers and it’s lovely to have such a wonderful community. I really don’t want to get into a “slanging” match with anybody, but please,… Read more »
Thank you, Roy. I am so happy to see you post a comment which I truly agree with 100 percent. There is too much negativity in the world as it is BTG is a happy sanctuary 🙂
Paul, I’m so sorry I couldn’t comment yesterday on your Bros post; it’s just that NJ was clobbered by a snow storm, so much of my time was spent shoveling out. It made it so worth it, finishing the job and then discovering this post on your site. Man, what a HOT COVER!!!! I’m so surprised there weren’t many comments over that!! I love picture covers and this is one of the best!! Really, really, really incredible hot!! And I’m grateful to you because of these introductions to bands I know very little about. I’m embarrassed to admit, but the… Read more »
I heard about the snow Jeff and figured that was why you were missing in action 🙂 You’re right this cover is HOT! They were kind of known to dress pretty sexy and I am glad they did (wink) 🙂
Every format of this title has a different pose from this photo shoot, too. Just sayin’. 😉
Fab!
I’ve never heard these. Fun. Thank you.
I do love this track — even if it’s lyrically a bit odd. I always thought it was ‘liqueur’ not ‘looker’ — but the lyrics are on the back cover.
As far as singles go, this was so much better than Cat Among The Pigeons and Drop The Boy.
BTW: Any idea who does the rap? I trolled the internet and found no answer (no credit on the label or on Discogs.com). Answers on a postcard!
🙂
Otherwise, I’ll be forced to make something up — perhaps MC Dáire B. Tease.
:-O
Thanks.
I am so glad you like this one, Richard. Michael Jackson came to mind when I first heard it. I’d love to know who did the rap too. I will take that name you have given lol 🙂
The credits on the album read “All vocals by Matt Goss”, and I could MAYBE hear him doing the rap, it sounds like him in some points. But the lyrics sound like he name checks himself as “Looper” maybe? The world may never know.
Ha! Errr … no. There is no way that is Matt Goss. My money is on the featured rapper being black & American.
I have never heard that song. How come? Loved When Will I Be Famous, Drop The Boy, Cat Amongst The Pigeons and I Owe You Nothing but those hit singles seem to be the only ones having managed to stay in my memory. Great song, Chocolate Song. I noticed there are several remixes. Maybe we will find another twelve inch here one day 🙂 Thank you, Paul. I really like it. Btw, does the comedy duo French and Saunders ring a bell? They loved to mimick pop stars in their shows (for example Salt´n´Pepa, Tanita Tikaram) and I vividly remember… Read more »
There is another 12″ only released in the UK with Bruce Forest mixes that I am trying to track down. Hopefully, it will appear here at some point 🙂
I saw them live in Los Angeles opening for Debbie Gibson. I went around back after the show and got to meet them both, very nice guys, and Matt at least seemed intrigued that he had a male fan (to be honest there was only about 6 people, I was the only guy). This single had just come out in the UK, but for some reason the USA got “I Owe You Nothing” instead, which was put on the second album here as well!
Wow! That must have been a really fun show, David. Thanks for sharing this smemory with us 🙂
Wow this is a pretty cool surprise from UK boyband, Bros. I actually caught them live and was in the 9th row at Wembley arena, 1988 i think (my sister wanted to go and our mother took us)! I caught Matt Goss again in 2008 in Vegas which was a very good show i might add. That was before it even moved to the bigger hotel. Do you happen to have ‘I quit’ or the ‘Over 18 mix’ of ‘I owe you nothing’ which luckily was on the recent-ish remaster of ‘Push’?
Hi all, not meaning to steal your thunder Paul but I have a few off those mixes on my blog already if Paul hasn’t got them. Always happy to help out a fellow blogger. 😊
Cool where can i find this blog? Agian i hope this is ok with Paul but i have nowhere else to communicate with you
Just some friendly info for anyone visiting here: 1)Paul’s email address is on this website if you take a minute to look for it. 2)If you make a donation to here, you will get Paul’s email *before*, *during*, and *after* you actually make a donation. 3)I’m not a fan of hijacking (intentionally or not) other sites to promote my site…it would be much more polite to state something on this blog like “hi Paul, I have the following additional mixes of this song…would you be able to post them someday? Here are the Youtube links if people want to hear… Read more »
With all due respect I’m a big fan of Paul’s work and have been a big follower of his blog.
I’m not into hijacking either.
Just trying to help out.
No need to get abusive.
Sorry for trying to help someone out.
Very nicely said, Fred. Thank you 🙂
Seems kind of rude that you are hijacking Paul’s comments just to promote your own blog.
It’s only a reply to a comment on here so calm down. No promoting here I don’t even know what the site is called and I’m happy to give my email here so we can speak privately. How many people search the comments every day? People going way overboard here we’ve both asked if it’s ok if it’s not we’ll both happily respect that.
Thanks for the understanding. As I said previously I have no intention of hijacking Paul. This blog is one of the biggest and best and I’ve been an avid follower for years. If any offence was caused it was not intentional.
