Wow, Paul, this is an exciting post. How have I gone 30 years not knowing there was a Metropolitan Mix of this song. It also led me the video, which I’ve also overlooked for 30 years; John Jon was a cutie!

Wow, this is an interesting version, I wonder how or why they decided to release this as the single: it has an almost live or demo feel. It is obviously a completely different recording while the original has a mechanical beat sequence and sampled chorus which sounds semi industrial like early Ministry, this one is more in the style of early Erasure. Thanks Paul.

Thanks!

It appears that this is an edit of Mike Thorne’s Metropolitan Mix, both with an original vocal. Is this the original version that appeared in the Letter To Brezhnev film? Does it appear on the soundtrack CD?

Wow Paul! Burning The Ground is off with a vengeance!! Happy 2016 to you and all your followers! I hope this is a fantastic year for everyone involved. I missed you Paul. I did have a nice holiday, but I missed checking in the way I usually do. I’m looking forward to playing “catch up” with the singles you’ve posted. Thanks for this one. I love this record; everything about the thing is fierce and FEROCIOUS!! Those jackhammer beats and the delirious chorus always spun me around (like a record!)! Actually, I thought of this classic when I first heard… Read more »
