Burning The Ground Exclusive 1988
Blue Mercedes, the vibrant pop music duo from London, England, made waves in the late 1980s with their distinctive mix of style and danceable beats. “See Want Must Have,” released in April 1988, was the second single from their debut album Rich and Famous.
The track’s infectious energy and polished production made it a standout, earning it chart success on both sides of the Atlantic. In the U.K., the song climbed to #57 on the Singles Chart, while in the U.S., it resonated with club-goers, reaching an impressive #18 on the Hot Dance Club Play chart.
“See Want Must Have” exemplifies the duo’s knack for blending catchy melodies with a playful sense of luxury, cementing their place in the late ’80s pop and dance music scenes. It’s a track that continues to evoke the era’s glamorous, carefree spirit and remains a favorite among fans of retro dance music.

This is a jammin’ record, Paul! I love the vibe of this song, with its snappy and funky percussive sound! I can see the record tearing up dance floors, even today! There’s something about break beats which I love! Sure, I adore the four-on-the-floor beats of Disco and House, but these frenetic beats really add to my ecstasy and enthusiasm for genres like this!!
Thank you so much, Paul, for this killer introduction!! I would be lost without your recommendations!
Jeff
One of the most popular sampled breaks in 1987, You’ll Like It Too by Funkadelic. The PWL team wanted to get in on the remix action with looped break beats. Albeit a bit late to the party. The Blue Mercedes Street Latin Wolff mixes were the best ones. The year of 1988, when this track was released, was now dominated by pop remixes shamelessly biting the style of hip hop producers that sampled Ashley’s Roachclip by the The Soul Searchers and Think (About It) by Lyn Collins. Many thanks to you for your hard work and tireless dedication to keep… Read more »

Jeff
Great one, a perfect example a great song being taken to new levels with great remixes. Thanks!
You’re welcome, Raymond 🙂
