I don’t know the differences between the mixes, but we used to really love this zany song. Thanks for sharing this one, Paul.
Thanks for the “Remastered” version of Bangles – Walk Like An Egyptian (Ozymandias Remix) (UK 12″)
A perfect replacement of my crackling vinyl version
Respect
Hello…
Interesting that this remix includes “Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares – Polegnala E Todora” (Полегнала е Тодора)
This group’s harmonies are reminiscent of some of The B-52’s harmonies.
Waited years for someone to rip and post this remix! Thank You Paul!
LOVE this mix, Paul. Thank you so much for sharing this! And, what an excellent rip!! 🙂
I was so excited when you posted the original 12″, somebody commented about this remix, and you said it was on the docket. I never knew there was another remix! Unfortunately it is rather cacophonous to my ears, but I respect its rarity and ALWAYS respect your effort.
I remember hearing this on a mix-show here in the UK. Cool to finally hear it in its entirety.
Thanks Paul 🙂
You’re welcome Mark 🙂
Wow! I don’t I’ve never been aware of this remix. I’m excited to listen to this rare mix. Thanks so muhc Dj PaulT. 🙂
I hope you end up loving it musicdivasf 🙂
Hi Paul,
Champion, Thanks
Ray
You’re very welcome Ray 🙂
hi Paul,
the “new” mix sounds a little bit scary in my ears, sorry. what is your opinion?
but by the way, many thanks for all your Wonderful work.
Ralf
It’s not the best mix I prefer the original but still cool and very rare 🙂
Thank you! I looked YEARS for this, finally found a copy that was scratched up and in awful condition. Only played it once, but hoped I’d find another one eventually. Very excited to see your post.
Very cool David. I hope you enjoy it 🙂
This is a very happy occasion Paul! I never knew that there was another mix to “Walk Like An Egyptian” so I am over-the-moon that you’ve introduced me (again) to something that is brand new to my ears. Thank you so much for these constant surprises. You’re very, very cool!!
Jeff
It’s a pretty cool mix with that kind of hippy chick sound to it. Hope you like it Jeff 🙂
I did like the mix very much and you’re right Paul, it does have that hippy chick sound to it. Once again, extremely grateful to you for your musical introductions!!
Jeff
Forgot to mention it, but I do like the original much better. I wish there was an instrumental because the background sounds are very trippy.
Jeff
🙂 Thanks again Paul!!!!
You’re welcome CL 🙂
Checking the Bangles’ releases on discogs.com yesterday after downloading the standard 12″ single I hoped for this to be the next one … a BIG THANK YOU!!!
Kind regards
Christian
My pleasure Christian 🙂
Thanks for the great rip, Paul! I had never seen or heard of these 2 remixes.
Unfortunately, the acappella is a)the same as the original and b)not technically an acappella.
Have a great day!!
Yeah, I noted it below that it is the same mix more like a percapella or something. Kind of lazy for the label to not give a new mix.
