Wow thanks! This song and 12″ single were genre defining for New Wave, similar to New Order’s Blue Monday 12″ single. We played this so much in 1982 and 1983 in the South Bay and Palos Verdes in Los Angeles, that our DJ had to own 3 copies of the Nowhere Girl 12″. It was played at every party in and around town and made number 90 on 106.7 KROQ’s top plays of 1983. People mention New Order and Yaz in that time frame. For us, it was New Order, Yaz, and B-Movie!

Lotus Eater had a popular hit in the Philippines also called German Girl. Apparently, there were 2 mixes of this song from different 12″ vinyl.

A defining moment in the 80s. Thanks Paul. For some reason I always got b-movie and the Lotus Eaters confused.

The Lotus Eaters’ best known song was The First Picture Of You from ’83/’84. But their best singles were You Don’t Need Someone New and It Hurts.

A classic in every sense of the word Paul. And I love the picture sleeve too. It has a haunting quality to it. I think most of us know this song, but if not, you’re our star educator. You present true monumental songs that are part of the New Wave music canon that can be appreciated by new and seasoned ears who come in contact with your marvelous rips.

A great way to start the week my friend!! You are superb in your selection!!
