Update!
Surgery This week
Hi everyone,
Last week I had a couple of doctor appointments to discuss an issue that I have been having with my right knee for several years. The knee was originally diagnosed with Avascular Necrosis (AVN) which is blood loss to the bone and then bone death. This disease, we believe, was caused by chemo and radiation therapy that I had to treat cancer in 2006. Last week I did x-rays and a CAT scan which showed the disease has now progressed causing my knee to be in danger of collapsing. After discussing this with my doctor, we decided that it is now time for total knee replacement. I will be having surgery this Wednesday (July 15, 2020). My doctor, which is considered one of the best in the world, will be performing the surgery using a robotic arm (pretty cool). He says that I will spend at least one day in the hospital and, after that, recovery could take 6 to 8 weeks. This means that I will be away from posting for some period of time, how long depends on how fast I recover and respond to rehab.
After I am settled and adjusted I will do my best to let you guys know how things are progressing either through me or my partner Jeremy. Be sure to follow BTG on it’s Facebook page because updates will more than likely happen there. Thank you so much in advance for your continued support and well wishes. Please be safe. Wear your masks and take care of yourselves. See you soon.
Love & Light
