I’m embarrassed to say I didn’t even know Annabella Lwin had a solo career! Maybe she was bigger in the US than the UK?
Look forward to checkin it out.
Not bad – I was not familiar with this one. I like the rough and tough mix. Thanks, Paul!
Me too Woz 🙂
OH MY GOODNESS PAUL!!! I am so covered in chills right now, that I’m actually covered in a thick frost!! I’ve been staring at my computer screen for about five minutes in a state of frozen exhilaration!! I am truly humbled! John Robie and all of his productions mean the world to me and I’ve been on this crusade to find as much as I can about him. Some of his stuff (more like his productions) have been released on compact disc, but things like this single, I don’t believe so. And I’m not quite sure it would sound the… Read more »
You’re welcome Jeff this is a really great 12″. Please note though the tracks on side b are in reverse order b2 is actually the “Dub Version” version and b1 is “Robie” aka “Rough and Tough Mix”.
Higs to you my friend and thank you 🙂
I’ve always wondered about that Paul myself. I’m surprised the record label wasn’t more careful with the listing. This record has all of the John Robie signature sounds, the keyboards, that emulator singing out War Boys, the bells, the saxophone, the crazy drum machine programing and those great edits John Robie is famous for. Such a cool track and your mastering skills are pristine. You’ve made my day, week and perhaps, month!!!
Jeff
I caught myself singing “Wild Boys, Wild Boys” ol.
That’s great! I love that Paul!
Little mistake… “Dub Version” here is on B2 and “Robie” is on B1. On UK release is B1: “Warboys (Rough & Tough Mix)”. Also on other European release is B1: “War Boys (Rough & Tough Mix)”. Btw, for me this is her best track, beside a cover of Peggy Lee’s classic “Fever”. Thx, Paul!
Yeah Nikki I wondered about this I just stuck with how it was written on the sleeve and labels. They did quite a misprint on this record 🙂
Thanks Paul! I pulled this 12 inch out 6 months ago and never got around to recording it….lol! I appreciate the fact that you and I have similar collections!
You’re welcome RA we do have similiar tastes which is a great thing lol. I know what you mean I have several records that have been pulled for months just not enough time to do them all 🙂
Yes Annabella is great. She’s a friend on FB too!
Wow. Thanks Paul. Love Annabella. Please post everything you have by her.
Sorry Omar this is all I have except for Bow Wow Wow 🙂
