BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1985
Celebrating Pride Month!
“Knock on Wood” is a 1966 hit song written by Eddie Floyd and Steve Cropper and originally performed by Floyd.
In 1979 American soul/disco singer Amii Stewart released a disco version of the song. It reached number one in the U.S. charts in April 1979; it also made it to the soul singles and disco charts, becoming the best-known version of the song. This recording was co-produced by Simon May. It reached the Top 10 twice in the UK, first in 1979 (peaking at number 6) and again in a remixed version backed with “Light My Fire” / “137 Disco Heaven” in 1985 (peaking at number 7).
“Knock On Wood” would become one of the “anthems for the LGBTQ community.”

Love this song! Thank you!
Fantastic Paul. Coulthard did another mix in 85 mashing these together that’s worth checking out! https://www.discogs.com/Amii-Stewart-Megamix/release/1918751
Alan Coulthard did some great remixes in this decade. I don’t think I remember hearing this before though.
Can’t wait to check it out. Thanks Paul 🙂
Great stuff. I immensely love the original version. This one is a gem! Thank you very much.
Excelente, gracias por esta version.
Happy Pride month Paul
I like this Knock on wood remix. It’s close to the original. Thanks for posting 🙂
I’m freaking out Paul. I never heard this before but I can hardly wait. The original is one of my all time favorites. Karen loves it too and is equally excited. Thanks so much Paul.
