Thanks Paul, You cant beat a bit of Alf, takes me right back to the summer of 1984, left home, sharing a flat, listening to this, Two Tribes and Smalltown Boy incessantly driving my flat mate mad. Keep up the excellent work as always.

Ah….1984!!! Love Ressurection is a great introduction to the solo career of Alison Moyet. Though more subtle then FGTH’s Relax, I think it’s an even “dirtier” song (“I want you to grow in my hands”). I simply love the sensual/sexual imagery used throughout the song. Or is it just my own filthy mind? LOL! Must give it to the singles marketing ploy in the UK back in the 80s – releasing two separate singles to boost sales and chart position. Alison had two different 12” formats for her first three singles. I had bought both versions for Love Resurrecion in… Read more »

Great song, great singer and great producers!
Jolley & Swain made great productions ( mostly with Imagination)

I completely agree with you: Jolley & Swain were great producers. They surely did some wonderful music with Imagination.
Paul, have you got some Imaginations 12” singles?
There’s a particuarly obscure one that hasn’t been on any compilation: it’s called ‘Follow Me’ and i believe the extended version is only found on the italian 12” single.

By the way, many thanks for Alison Moyet, fantastic stuff!

Agree, and I love how they can adapt to different acts and not impose their own sound – Bananarama, Imagination, Alison Moyet and Spandau Ballet – they all have their unique style.

Sorry Peter, Follow me was never remixed or extended. BTW If u’re an Imagination fan (like me) you can find georgeous remixed versions of Just an Illusion, Burning up and Changes by Lindstrom and Dimitri from Paris. They are remixes based on original audio tracks and they sound like genuine 80’s extended remixes.

You’ve made my week, Paul. Thank you so much! Alison is one of my favourite artists and it’s wonderful to hear these mixes in glorious vinyl and to see how much people remember her so fondly. I’ve been following her career for 30 years now and think she is better than ever. I would highly recommend her latest studio album ‘the minutes’ for anyone who would like to hear her golden voice singing fresh songs that take her back to her electronic roots. But these mixes are trips down memory lane! Am loving it. Please bring more!

Beautiful songs, along,by my point of view, with the cover she made of Floy Joys’ “Weak In The Presence Of Beauty”.

Thanks as always Paul,for this.

As former dee-jay [many eras ago,of course] I appreciate so much your effotrs and the memories you made arise [I used to have some of the Mix you post} to me.

Thanks for all the Alison. One of the best performers. The three times I’ve seen her perform (she doesn’t get to the US that much) are some of the best performances I’ve ever seen. Such a talent.

Again, we speak and you listen Paul! Thanks so much for this, a consecutive Alison Moyet song. So generous of you to rip another one of her big hits. I agree with Ric (from yesterday’s posting) Alison should have been the Adele of the 80’s 90’s. That voice is phenomenal; so full of passion and strength! I sometimes don’t understand what it takes to make it in the music business. Must be a combination of talent and luck and having the stars align in a special way. Thanks to you DjPaulT, you acknowledge that something special in a song and… Read more »

The Adele of the 80s and 90s? How insulting! Alison was – and is – far more talented!

The comparison was never made to say who is more talented of the two.
It’s simply an observation based on the fact that both were plus size non-conformist female singers with a big bluesy voice.
So it’s such a shame that one was able to sell 30 million copies of 21 in the ’10s while the other’s Alf only shifted under 2 million in the ’80s.

Both those ladies are blessed with the voices they’ve got & the talent to know how to use them. Both, in my view, are wonderful 🙂

Loving the Alison rips Paul… Fingers crossed you have an entire series planned! Few (if any) of the 12″ mixes from her first few albums have seen the light of day on CD, so these rips are a gift! Thanks so much.
