Thanks so much for posting this record, the lyrics and letting us know about “On the wrong side of the line”! I had heard it but I didn’t know where it came from, I thought it was a promo single or something like that…

Thanks for posting these Zu Zu Sharks singles. I actually never realized that Richard was in Living In A Box (probably because I loathe that single), and was first made aware of his work when he sang “Early In The Morning” on a British Electric Foundation record. I then saw his name pop up time and again as a writer (Level 42, Lisa Stansfield). But, digging these ZZS singles, I think I owe LIAB a second listen (or more). Thanks again. And, from one Aquarian to another, have a great b-day weekend.

Yay for obscure, underrated New Wave/Synthpop in high quality! 😀
I just noticed something strange, it seems the sleeve has a mistake, “After The Ship’s Gone Down” in this 12″ is actually another track called “On the wrong side of the line”, the 7″ of this release contains the real “After The Ship’s Gone Down”, which is a slow piano ballad.

Looking forward to the rip of “Big Boys”, it’s so obscure it’s not even listed on discogs yet.

——————————————— After The Ship Goes Down ——————————————— Get up, get out Wake up, good morning Welcome to the week that was Stand up, stand out Stiff upper lip, me and the boys Don’t mess with us We took control When you looked away Gave the orders For you to obey Once more into the breach On Victory Day We took our flag and we raised it On the wrong side of the line Love’s out of sight Love’s out of mind To you returning Wrong side of the line They won’t tell you when They won’t tell you why It’s… Read more »

I just figured it was one of those songs where the title has nothing to do with the actual lyrics. 🙂

More transcripts. 😀 ——————————————— Eyes of the World ——————————————— At the end of the day you found yourself falling Into another world where your love(*) slipped away with the wind Beaches and pearls, where she chose the diamonds And you got the girl Take a look at Monday morning And you tell me that her heart can fall So if it’s love that’s lost between us It’s better than no love at all When you look into the eyes of love Through the eyes of the world Does it turn your heart inside out? Into the eyes of love Through… Read more »

Is that Gary Tibbs from Adam & the Ants?! On that note, you wouldn’t happen to have Merrick & Tibbs “Call of the Wild”?

Thanks for sharing!

I didn’t think much of yesterdays track (bland), but this surprises me, that it wasn’t at least a minor hit, but then not all records are hits! (good, bad or somewhere in between).

Thanks as always for the rip, Paul 🙂

Although not as immediately catchy as yesterday’s “Love Tumbles Down,” I like this song. Such a different feel, but I can see it growing on me more and more through subsequent plays. Paul, you’re so good to present us the band’s discography so far and I’m looking forward to the single that you’ll be posting sometime in the future. So happy that you’re here for us to get such fantastic music in such pristine condition. It’s so rare to get “lost treasures” that come out so “polished” and beautiful sounding. I relish my time here because of the care that… Read more »

Oddly enough, I think the “B”-side of this one (“After The Ship Goes Down”) is catchier than the “A” side…

It really is a shame these guys didn’t stick together long enough to record a whole album; they had a lot of potential, if these four tracks are anything to go by…

To The Doctor,

I couldn’t agree with you more about the “B”-side. A lot of times, I almost prefer the flips to the “A”-sides. And once again, thanks for the lyrics. Paul’s postings always brings out the best in his followers, with comments, trivia and other things we all find interesting. Great place here.

Thanks again,

Jeff
