Willy Finlayson – On The Air Tonight (Germany 12″)

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1984

A. Front

“On The Air Tonight” is a 1984 single by Scottish singer Willy Finlayson. The song was released as a single in Europe and featured in the film “A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge” but did not appear on the soundtrack. “On the Air Tonight” failed to chart but is still played on retro 80s radio.

If you are not familiar with this track I suggest you give it a listen it’s truly brilliant another one of my all-time favorites.

Thank you so much Paul for this wonderful post. I’ve been waiting to get this rip in high-quality-sound for such a long time. Well, it was worth the wait. You make my day (it’s raining today in France) become such a wonderful and bright day!!! I’m also very glad to read that it belongs to one of your all-time favorites. This brilliant song was written by Pete Bardens who had also a solo career. He had a minor hit in 1987 with “In dreams”. His works including “On the air tonight” unfortunatelly didn’t get much success. I hope that people… Read more »

I love when you describe your postings as “another one of my all-time favorites.” You have really presented so many wonderful tracks that I wasn’t too familiar with, if at all, that quickly became a brand new favorite of mine. Thank you Paul for these, such gifts they are. I can not wait to listen to this one this evening. Days are so much better with a DjPaulT musical masterpiece!!!

Oh Paul!! The importance of who you are and what you do, really means so much. This record is beautiful. I found it hypnotic and haunting; it created images in my mind like a dream. Gorgeous musical atmospherics and impassioned vocals. Wow, I’m so swept away by it all. Thank you for continually showcasing music that deserves to be heard. I continually celebrate you because you archive records that need, that MUST be heralded because so much is lost and/or forgotten. You’re like a sonic Turner Classic Movies (TCM), preserving “soundtracks” to a generation of the ’80’s and the ’90’s… Read more »

(So glad you did not mention Jim Morrisson..)
Great a very obscure one for me, never heared it as I know of. Thanx for the op, Paul.
