Hello again, PaulT, and I looooove me some Turntable Porn!! Here @ my little factory, I’ve got my own ever-growing pile of vinyl that needs ripping & I”ll need expert help with the prep and initial setup. I’m totally clueless about which instruments are best for my smallish needs & budget, the best places to get these items, the differences in competitive brands, needles, etc. Someday, when I finally get my own turntable, etc, perhaps I can consult you about the setup? All I can offer you in return is a Sound Engineer credit, haha, but I’ll be grateful for… Read more »
Dear friend and soul mate Paul 🙂 Congratulations on your latest purchase. A well-deserved treat, that´s for sure. I´ve been thinking about replacing my currrent record player with this Technics gem and would love to hear your experiences with it over the next couple of weeks. I´m so happy for you! And as for the usual negative comments: we have a saying in Germany that roughly translates as, “A German oak tree doesn´t care whether a wild boar rubs its back on it.” That´s the way to see things, I guess. Enjoy, dear friend, and have a great weekend. You… Read more »

Dear, the gift is impressive, it is just to enjoy it, with that or those vinyls that you like the most. Greetings.

Hello Paul, Your new turntable looks fantastic, Technics really make excellent products and visually looks stunning! You have a great set up.
Have you got any Shamen records (1990 -1993). That’s my favourite era of the band with Mr C on rap. Move any mountain is my favourite, love Ebeneezer Goode as well.

Hi Paul. I’m so happy you’re getting nice feedback for your purchase. I don’t like the criticism from certain comments. Some people can be really horrible. No humility, especially for all the years you’ve generously shared your music with the world. You should be celebrated and not criticized. I am positively thrilled for you, and US!!
Hi Frank, I am keeping it for a bit because I might swap it out to see what it sounds like on this table. If I decide to sell anything I will make a post about it.
…i wouldn’t be surprised if you keep it 😉 Thanks for the reply

Hey, DjPaulT, what a pretty new turntable you have. Very nice indeed. You are so very blessed to have these amenities to continue your amazing work. I appreciate you and it more than you know. Unfortunately, we don’t have great, LEGITIMATELY talented musical artists anymore. That pretty much ended by 2000! Luckily we have people like you who can remember a time when the music and the artistry was real and mean some significant and important in our lives. Please continue to bless us with the great music and memories. May God continue to bless you and yours always. Take… Read more »
We will always have talented musicians and songwriters. You must seek them out on YouTube, indie music stores, Pandora, and other platforms. They generally don’t show up on radio or the Hot 100.
Hi, dj xrey, Thank you so very much for your reply. Indeed, great music FROM THE PAST definitely must be sought out independently. It’s truly a labor of love. No one knows that better than me. I am CONSTANTLY expanding my music library. Thank God for the World Wide Internet. It makes things significantly easier for me to do so. I am ALWAYS finding LONG OUT OF PRINTS, REISSUES, NON-RELEASES, EXTREME RARITIES, ETC! I have been following (and recently financially supporting) Dj Paul T for several years now. Man, he’s one of the greatest music and memory providers anywhere on… Read more »

Wow, people who get free music from you are criticizing your gear and moaning about the sound quality of rips you haven’t even made yet? Sheesh. What holiday spirit. You’re a pro DJ, and you still know what you are doing. Don’t let the skeptics get you down. I highly doubt there will be any problems, but even if there are, I know you’ll deal with ’em appropriately. Enjoy your new gear and upcoming holidays!
Exactly my opinion! In german we would say “these are unlaid eggs” 😉 If the MK7 follows the tradition of the MK2 you will be really happy with it. I read that Technics improved the direct drive motor to nearly eliminate the cogging moment that can cause micro-vibrations of those motors. I own two of the “old” 1210 MK2 for more than 25 years now, and I use them almost daily. Absolutely reliable companions! For everyday purposes I use the classic concorde PRO-S cartridges, and for vinyl transfers I use a Nightclub S cartridge with a Ortofon 30 stylus (from… Read more »

Looks great! I will be interested to see how you feel about making rips and, of course, enjoying music on this one. I believe it’s direct drive, which is a different approach to moving things round and round…😎
I haven’t really had much time with it yet. I will know for sure once it gets broken in.

I’m sure it’s a top notch DJ deck but isn’t this a downgrade in audiophile terms Paul? For ripping surely you want belt not direct drive…and isn’t the the 2M Black microline? The Elite is more expensive and only elliptical. Happy to be corrected if I am missing something…
Congrats! My dear friend DJ Paul. I hope you’ll enjoy your new acquisition for a long time

Not wanting to sound peckish, but owning an older model of the turntable (Technics SL-1210 MK2) and of the cartridge (Ortofon Concorde Nightclub E MK II) with similar technical specifications, I consider this a downgrade from your previos setup (Pro-Ject Debut Carbon + Ortofon 2M Black).
I hope You have not discarded your previous setup, You might want to revert to it in a forseeable future…
