REQUEST

“Symptoms of True Love” is the second single from Tracie Spencer’s self-titled debut album. The single was released in 1988. It was written by German composer team Irmgard Klarmann and Felix Weber. Unlike her first single (which was a ballad), this song was an uptempo club/dance track. The theme of the song focuses on Spencer discovering that she is suffering from “symptoms of true love” and lists the causes.

“Symptoms of True Love” was Tracie’s first single to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching number 38. On the Hot Black Singles chart, it peaked at a respectable number 11.

I’ve heard of Spencer Tracy (the actor) but not Tracie Spencer! LOL

The songs sounds a bit ‘Five Star’ ish.

Many many Thanks Paul!!!
I think this is a great european remix
thanks to the PWL sound and to Pete Hammond
(that I think is better than Phil Harding).

Only you could give us this incredible 12″.
… If Love could rule the world!

Have a great weekend.

Phil Harding was different than pete hammond, not better…
Harding was specialist for hi-nrg (dead or alive, divine) or soul (Princess..Diana ross)
big fan of Motown sound
1987, PWL needed another mixmaster…
if I remember the 1st mix for pwl by Hammond was “Mel&Kim Respectable” in contribution with Harding.

OMG, this is a rare treat since i do not think the PWL remix has surfaced on any CD, digital downloads, before! Therefore, this is one of a kind remastering. The intro is a killer! Thanks again Paul.

Paul, i’m dying for a remastering of Never You Done That (12″) by General Public and also Abandoned Ship by April Showers!

Is this the same Tracie Spencer who did “This House” Paul? I loved that record, but this one is new to me. Very cool to have you give us another PWL remix. I can’t wait to check it out. I’m so happy it’s Friday and the weekend is ahead. Every time you post things Paul, it’s like a little bit of “Friday” and all is right in the world. Hope you have a marvelous weekend and I’ll be speaking to you soon.

All the best!!!

Jeff

One of my 80s faves. One that got away!
Great choice 🙂
