I really like this song, Paul. Although a bit dated sounding, it reminds me of a “jock jam” that could be played at an event! I love the crowd noise which intensifies the excitement. Again, one very cool track!

Hey Paul, Again, another splended job in this very rare australian find, and for filling in another of my requests. Brings back many fond memories of watching the games in Brisbane in October 1982, toward the last year of going to primary school, final years before the messy teen years. ha ha. 🙂
Great post DJ, but did I like the songs, nope, but I love combing through obscure music from the era. I enjoyed the background info you described of the song(s) history, and I learned something. Again, great post !
Paul do you know where LiquidClub has moved?
Thank you again for all your great work.
Cheers
I have never heard of it sorry.
Sorry I thought you had posted last year on Ricardo/Cado’s site.
Wow this comes out of left field! While I’m not personally familiar with it (having never lived in Oz) it’s quite a fanfare and a musical time capsule. Thank you Paul!! Have great weekend, and you too Jeff, Martika, Fred and the rest of this wonderful community!
You’re welcome, Retro Hound. It makes me happy when people open their minds to new music. Have a great weekend 🙂
Thank you Paul. I love your site. I am Australian, so I do get a little extra thrill when I see the ‘A-word’ in one of your posts. I don’t actually know this track (I was only 4 in 1982), but Tony Ansell + Peter Wall also did the ABC (Australia) News theme which is BURNED into my brain, LOL. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCARsFb4jd8 Speaking of TV nostalgia, I enjoy going on YouTube and watching old station IDs and promos. Not just Australia, but any country. From the major networks to regional affiliates. Does anyone else do that, or am I just a… Read more »
Gordon, not a weirdo at all I love watching those types of things and seeing vintage adverts. 🙂
Wow, that is delightfully obscure, Paul. Were you even born then? I would have been twenty and living in Adelaide but I don’t recall it. Definitely sounds ’82ish. Nice one.
Thank you, David. Lol, I was alive and about twelve years old at the time. 🙂
Oh wow thank you. I went to Youtube to preview the track, and totally remember hearing this back in 1982 during the Commonwealth games. My parents were originally from Australia, and in the 80s we followed all things related to Oz pretty closely.
I love these sorts of one-off themes. I just recently bought a Vangelis 45 of the TV theme for the Carl Sagan Cosmos miniseries (which was taken from his mid-70s Heaven And Hell record). One of his best pieces.
Anyway – thank you again for bringing back a lovely memory!
You’re welcome, mate. I have a few more of these Aussie gems that I hope to get posted eventually 🙂
It’s so great to get another obscure 80’s gem from you, Paul. I can imagine lots of your Australian music fans will appreciate this song. I can too because I love “new” stuff from you!!
Have a fabulous weekend, Paul. Thanks again for all your hard work!!
Have a great weekend, Song And Dance, Retro Hound, Martika, Daniel, Jay, ING, and all you marvelous BTG fans!!!
Jeff
