Thanks for this Paul, I have this on the 7″ double pack that David mentioned below, it’s great to hear it in it’s full glory with your ear for detail in cleaning it up.
Hope your mum is okay & getting better, it’s always a worry when our parents are not so well
Many thanks for this. This was of course all included in my suggestion from a number of years ago… https://www.discogs.com/release/330220-Thompson-Twins-Extra-special-Tuneful-Twosome
More TT would be truly amazing would make up for the poor offerings we’ve had so far from the record companies.
I liked some of the earlier singles like Dancersaurus and Watching. I think you posted that some years ago.
Thanks for another flashback, Paul.
Those aren’t early Twins singles. They released 9 singles prior to We Are Detective and Watching.
I guess to many especially outside of the USA they seem like early singles because the Twins had not made it big in the states at this point.
The first 7 singles failed everywhere. Well apart from the incredible ‘In the name of love’, in certain circles. None made the Top 75 here in the U.K.
You’re welcome, MCD 🙂
Absolutely Awesome!
Thanks so much. Your rip is far supior than what Edsel did with the ‘set’ re issue back in 2008.
Cheers matey
Agreed. I was so excited in 2008 to at last be getting ‘A Product Of…’ on CD. As a bonus there was ‘Set’ attached as well and lots of bonus tracks…but they did such a crap job soundwise! Such a shame. But as you say these vinyl rips beat the so called remastered CD versions on that double CD set.
You’re welcome, matey it is so nice to see you comment here 🙂
Thank you! Thank You!
Always loved this TT song…so glad you posted this one.
Have a great weekend.
Cheers, John.
Cheers, John 🙂
Glad to see you back. Hoping your mom is doing better as are you. It is so hard when our parents get sick. Continued prayers.
Thank you, Robert 🙂
The double 7″ of this title has a gatefold sleeve that says (without spelling it out) that the group had split at this point. Each individual band member has a portrait on a horizontal line inside. The trio who went on to be famous were above the center line and the 4 who were dropped from the line-up where below the center line. It’s just another way the Thompson Twins showed their interest in the tiniest details of their product- including the artwork.
Very nice I will have to locate a copy of that double pack. I love great artwork 🙂
Easier to track down here in the UK. If I see a copy maybe I could grab it and mail it you?
Thank you sir that would be cool 🙂
Although this was not successful, I really liked it, especially the extended version, thanks
You’re welcome, Raymond 🙂
Hi paul,
glad to see you back.
hope you and your mom are doing better.
it’s nice to see a few posts again.
i’m a huge fan of thompson twins, but i have
not really listened to their music before the
sidekicks and quickstep era.
so thanks for posting their early works.
i have been trying to collect a lot of their
singles, and have not gotten to these yet.
so thanks for saving me some work.
take care,
later

You’re very welcome. I love early TT some great singles were issued 🙂
This is amazing as I am a massive Thompson Twins fan.
In fact I was listening to ‘Set’ last night in celebration of 2022 being it’s 40th anniversary.
40 years! Good lord!
This album still sounds great and ‘In The Name of Love’ is still a great pop/dance track.
Hopefully more Thompson Twins will be posted.
Thank you.
You’re welcome, FuffyPaws 🙂
Thanks for this Paul!
Are we to see some more TT 12″s go up soon? 🙂
You’re welcome, I am sure I will post more over time 🙂
Spooky…I had a Thompson Twins listening day on Wednesday. Mainly Here’s to Future Days era stuff. But I favour the early stuff usually. ‘A Product Of…’ is one of my all time favourite albums. This is, as you know, smack between the two. I didn’t have a vinyl rip of this so many many thanks Paul.
I love their early output too. I hope you enjoy this one Ian 🙂
I will Paul. Familair with both mixes from CD compliations. Problem with this one, in terms of sales potential back then, is that the B-side, Bouncing, was better than the A.
I prefer “Bouncing” myself it just has more Bouncing energy lol 🙂
Great find, Paul. The early TT singles are all so good.
Thank you, Dean 🙂
