Thanks so much for sharing this. Is there any chance for a re-post of this single? I missed it the first time around. Thanks! – Scott

Wow! I never knew a single of this existed! I always thought this should have been the 3rd single. I believe it would have rivaled “Some Like It Hot” and “Bang A Gong” in the Top 40… but instead someone clueless chose “Communication” which peaked at only #34 and never stood a chance on the radio. I was a radio junkie in those days and yet I have no memory of “Communication” ever being played. This one, however…
Great post. I always loved The Power Station. I wish their complete performance on SNL with Robert Palmer was available.
Many thanks for the Power Station, DJPaul! I’ve been a massive fan of Robert Palmer for as long as I can remember and it’s always a great pleasure to find gems such as this being preserved and shared.
Happy Thanksgiving to not only Paul, but to everyone who visits this awesome blog that will be celebrating the holiday tomorrow. I wish all of you a safe, happy and fun holiday!
Take care and thanks again, Paul!
Ha, I KNEW I didn’t imagine hearing this on the radio once or twice! Happy Thanksgiving, Paul!
i love this, thanks.. enjoy your holiday.
Thank you Ozboyfromphx. Have a great holiday as well 🙂
Thanks Paul for another rarity!
I wonder if this was around the time Robert Palmer refused to go on tour with the group, and hence the single not released commercially.
Also, I know this may put you on the spot, but do you prefer Power Station or Arcadia? LOL!
Seems like the former is more successful in the US while the latter did better in the UK and Europe.
I prefer Arcadia as I’m more a New Wave Electronic fan than a Rock one.
Hi Ric I prefer Arcadia. Because likh you I am more into electronic music. Oh and Simon and Roger he he 🙂
Roger!!! Cutest drummer ever!!! droooooool……
Agreed!!
Classic Robert Palmer (If not a little “Addicted To Love”), Power Station were a fun setup!
Happy as Larry…
Thanks Paul.
You’re welcome Ex15 🙂
Thank you Paul!!! I like The Power Station, this promo is a very rare and hard to find or very expensive.
You’re very welcome Guss 🙂
Power Station always impressed me because of their heavy drum production. I think Jimmy Bralower (forgive the mispelling) always was a fantastic percussionist. I believe he did those great drums on “Eight Arms To Hold You” by Goon Squad. Thanks for this rare edit Paul. I love their music and this is great for us completests. Hey, I want to wish you the very best Thanksgiving Paul. I’ll be out of town for the holiday, so I wanted to say it as I might not get a chance to when the time comes. Thank you for making this a very… Read more »
