“Mutants in Mega-City One” was a non-LP single by The Fink Brothers a short-lived alter ego created by Madness members Suggs and Chas Smash, working under the aliases Angel and Ratty Fink. The single reached $50 on the UK singles chart in 1985.

Had the 12 inch and sold the 12 Inch, then had a very low rez rough vinyl copy mp3 which I had then cleaned up further. Fun song and mix which I’ve always enjoyed. Would have fit nicely on the Mad Not Mad [Deluxe Edition] and hoped that it would be included, but alas, no. Big thanks from me also Paul.

Bless your ears Paul!!! Man, you sure pick ’em!! This record is phenomenal!! Love the punch brass and those cool efx. Plus, the song is catch and quirky and right up my alley. Thanks for turning me on once again to a great track that would have been buried if it weren’t for you. Love that wicked, almost acid like sound under the track. Really stunning. Loved the flip too. Almost reminds me of a David Lynch produced catwalk or stripper’s anthem. Wicked stuff!!

There’s a problem with the 24 bit (which i don’t usually bother with but this is special)! Downloaded 3 times then realised it’s a smaller file than the 16 bit, which can’t be right!

Thanks Paul i requested this a little while back so i am very grateful. I’m sure this is a Madness rarity that will never see the light of day again. That’s been the case for over 30 years as far as both the 7 and 12″‘s are concerned. Thank you very, very much indeed. For those interested Feargal Sharkey’s Listen to your father has strong Madness connections. And not just because, like this, it’s on their record label, Zarjazz. In fact the Top of the pops appearance actually featured 6/7 members on stage with Feargal
