The Adventures – Two Rivers (Extended Re-Mix) (UK 12″)

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1985

NEW Transfer!
Meticulously Remastered!

**I realize that only just posted this single back in February of this year. Since then I have made some equipment upgrades so I wanted all four singles that I have by The Adventures to all sound the same, and be recorded with the same hardware. I am just weird that way. Anyway I hope you have enjoyed this series.

Recorded using:
Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Turntable with Ortofon 2M Bronze stylus, Pro-Ject Tube Box DS2 phono pre-amp, and ADL GT40a USB DAC.

“Two rivers” is a single by Northern Irish rock band The Adventures, formed in Belfast in 1984. The song was written by guitarist Pat Gribben and reached number 96 in the UK Singles Chart it was released as the fourth and final single from the band’s debut album Theodore and Friends.

Many thanks for the excellent Adventures 12″s Paul, much obliged!
Keep up the amazing work, hope you’re pretty much over the bad weather now.
All the very best

And the 16 bit download unpacks into a folder which is erroneously named “…{24bit-96kHz}”. When things like this happen to me I usually have been burning the midnight oil!

Are you just looking for things to criticize?

This 24 bit flac download is identical to your original “Two Rivers” upload. But thanks as always for your rips Paul.

I looked at it in spectral view in Adobe Audition 2020 and there are differences also the sound is a bit beefier probably due to the addition of a new tube amp in the chain.

Sorry, what I was trying to explain above was that when I downloaded the 24 bit version earlier today, for whatever reason the files were identical to those I downloaded last February. But I downloaded it again just now and got the new transfer!

Thank you for posting these. Sadly, the Adventures did not get the publicity in the US that they should have as these songs would have fit in well with any of the UK singles that were making it big in the US at the time.

One of my fave New Wave/Synth-pop songs ever! Thanks for putting your magical touch on this track. Please do Kakko’s What Kind of Fool or Cerrone’s Never Let A Day Go By.

Now that’s all perfectly perfect! Yesterday I commented that we have the whole 4 singles and mixes taken from “Theodore and friends” being available here in perfect sound quality. But today we even get your best possible remaster of “Two rivers”. This was an amazing week full of “adventures”. As I told yesterday I will burn myself a special Adventures CD compilation containing all these sublime remasters, and they will all sound perfectly the same. Thanks a million Paul. Have a nice weekend 🙂

I hear you Daniel. I have a 1TB drive in my car with 442GB of Paul´s masterpieces in flac encoding on it. It just can´t get better than that 🙂

Strange that this band and its wonderful music totally flew under the radar. I have the standard “Send My Heart” 12-inch only and listening to your posts I do not have any excuse for not buying all three albums and all 12-inches back then.
Thank you for reminding us of The Adventures. I can´t stop humming the “Two Rivers” chorus now 🙂

Have a wonderful weekend, Paul, Jeff and everyone here. Be safe, stay healthy my friends.

Thank you for the Adventures posts. “Theodore and Friends” is a wonderful yet criminally-ignored album, and deserves a deluxe reissue. However, until someone in Cherry Pop or Lexer Music ‘sees the light’ your posts are helping to fill an emormous gap!!
