Steve Coy along with Pete Burns was one of the founding members of 80s British New wave Synth-pop band Dead Or Alive. Steve was the band’s drummer, guitarist, and keyboardist. The news was posted earlier today on Pete Burns (of Dead Or Alive) Bristar Records – OFFICIAL GROUP on Facebook. Steve will be dearly missed.
I love the music of the 80’s. RIP Steve Coy.
So sad… 🙁
Am gutted. i was in the DOA group on Fbook when Steve’s wife posted it. i thought it was a joke @ first.
RIP you are also an ICON man
Oh No! So sad. He was so handsome! RIP
What happened? Why so much mystery? Details of the causes of his death are not given anywhere.
so very sad, R.I.P. Steve!
i had a crush on you when i was a teenager :-/
This is terrible news. I feel awful. Steve did so much for continuing Dead Or Alive’s legacy. This bands music is forever in my heart.
Jeff
I could not believe this at first when i read our FB group. What’s going on? Most of the good ones are now gone! Sad. RIP.
Sad to read the bad news yesterday morning.
I was so lucky to meet him and to know him as a human being… and he was a great human being, before drummer and manager of Pete Burns and Dead Or Alive.
He will be “Big Daddy Of The Rhythm” forever.
Rest in peace, my great friend xxx
Rest in Peace
Trying to not be sad but rather celebrate his life & music.
Mad, Bad & Dangerous To Know is my favourite album of all-time.

Cancelled my plans today and am, indeed, sitting around listening to Dead Or Alive albums & miscellaneous tracks. This music helped me survive as an isolated teenager and it means the world to me.
RIP Steve
Pete and you will be making music in heaven 🙁
Sad, sad, sad.
Damn, those two could really bring the energy in their songs. When I was DJing in nightclubs, DOA’s music always lifted the energy in the room and packed the dance floor. RIP Steve.
its really sad new rest in peace dear steve now your star are with pete
First Pete, and now Steve?!?! Much too early. (expletive expletive).
Both are dearly missed.
Rest In Peace…
Another great one lost. That’s really sad. Dead or Alive was so influential to the genre.
My heart is broken again. My favorite band. I am swimming in memories

I am deeply shocked as well as deeply saddened @ learning of this news! I considered Steve Coy not only a great musician & kindred soul where musicality is concerned, but also a great role model & “Birth Yr. Sibling” who will never be forgotten!
