BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1985
“Let’s Go All the Way” is a song by American group Sly Fox. Released as a single in December 1985 from their debut studio album of the same name, the record entered the Billboard chart on December 28 and went Top 10 in both the U.S. and the UK. Despite receiving considerable commercial and critical success, the group failed to match expectations with their later singles, and are sometimes referred to as a one-hit wonder.
When released, the song was a top 10 hit in the US, peaking at number seven, after reaching number three in the UK Singles Chart earlier in the year. AllMusic notes that “the song’s oddball mix of hip-hop, Latin pop, disco, and new wave, crossed radio formats, from R&B to Top-40 to ‘Rock of the ‘80s’ stations ruled by the Smiths and the Cure.” On the strength of the single’s multiformat success, the band’s album hit the Top 40 in two formats as well, peaking at number 31 on the Top 200 Albums chart and at number 34 on the Top R&B Albums chart.
Released for the Europen market The ‘Multi-Mix’ remix by Les “Mix Doctor” Adams of DMC contains samples of “We Will Rock You” by Queen and “A Fly Girl” by Boogie Boys.

PLEASE RE UP THIS ONE !!!!!Sly Fox – Let’s Go All The Way (Multi-Mix) (Germany 12″)
Hey Paul, any chance to reup this one?
HI Paul,
I just found out NOW that this particular “Extended Version” of Let’s Go All The Way is exclusive to this Canadian pressing. It has synths where guitars should be in the bridge, an extra break before the “nah nah”s and some other subtle differences: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfwlbiIVJEk
If you come across a good copy of this, you might want to consider doing a transfer of it! 🙂
lol the 80s scratching in this mix. 😀
This is one of those songs where I could never remember the artist. Thank you for filling the gap. 🙂
A fantastic single! Love the mixes too. Thanks!
Wow, Paul. Just seeing this cover flashed me back to early 1986. I would travel down to Melbourne from Adelaide every holiday season and shop at a store called Central Station, one of the few Australian stores which specialised in importing records from Europe and the US. One of their specialties was 12″ mixes. This cost me AUD$35 in 1986 !!! So excited to have a pristine rip this epic mix !
Thanks Paul. I haven’t even started playing this download yet, and already that repetitive vocal and sound samples are being resurrected from my recessive memory and reminding me that no matter how difficult some of those years were at times, there were still good friends, good music, and good memories too. Some of the best songs came from musicians that never released anything memorable again. If they moved to other projects with other performers, I never knew about it in the pre-internet age. How did people keep track of what musicians did before and after life in a band, before… Read more »
woohoo! i was excited to see the short blix mix on here. hopefully soon you can upload the extended blix mix. That was one of my requests last year 😉 thank you for this one!
This was unexpected. I didn’t remember this song. You surprised me.
Thank you.
You’re welcome Charly 🙂
Good choice my friend to start to enjoy the weekend!!! Can’t stop to say…. Nana nana nana nana nana … Hehe… Have a wonderfull weekend
You too Cdman 🙂
Awesome mix! I still can’t find a quality version of the only other U.S. Hot 100 hit by Sly Fox called “Stay True”, this brings back memories though.
Hope Paul doesn’t mind. There’s a 192bps version of the album at http://nrrules.blogspot.com/2013/12/sly-fox-let-go-all-way-1986.html
You can find the CD on Ebay for this album as it was re-released … (but it says unofficial) I think it was only ever released on LP & Cassette

Thanks so much, Paul, for this. I loved the song when I was in high school, and this brings back a great deal of memories.
You’re welcome Silver Blue 🙂
Ouch Paul!! You end the week on a very high note for me!! I LOVE this song. Those HUGE BEATS!! Love the “Diamond Dub Mix” because of the edits by Charlie Dee Diaz and Chep Nuñez and Omar Santana!! And speaking of edits, I have to say your Burning The Ground site has showcased marvelous 12-inch dance discs with incredible edits on them. I’m a die hard EDITHEAD and I really appreciate these razor blade cut and splice extravaganzas. Not that this mix is over-the-top machine gun insanity, but, as a completest, I crave these lost mixes. And nobody does… Read more »
Ooo-Whee!! Paul, that “Multi-Mix” is Multi-Orgasmic!! I so love these “kitchen-sink mixes” where everything, but the kitchen sink is thrown in! Loved the Queen samples and “Fly Girl” by The Boogie Boys. Great creativity here. Ah, those were the days when sampling ran rampant through mixes. It reminded me so much of the Old WKTU radio station out of NYC when they had top DJ’s do custom music mixes. Such immense fun. Thanks Paul for uncovering this gem.
Jeff
You wanna hear sampling run rampant?…check out any of the Milli Vanilli mixes. Sure, the group has since become a joke, but the beats and mixes were slammin’. Girl You Know It’s True and Baby Don’t Forget My Number had like 30+ samples in each mix if you listened carefully.
Fred, I hear you about the Milli Vanilli Mixes. I have them too. Yes, I am obsessed with very, very, VERY GOOD samples and edits. And yes, the ultimate edits are on three of the Sweet Sensation records: “Hooked On You”; “(Goodbye Baby)Victim of Love”; “Take It While It’s Hot” These are like the holy trinity of edit mixes done by O-O-O-OH-OH-OH-Omar Santana. Somehow, Mr. Santana was a full concentration of the Latin Rascals’ DNA mixed on steroids. The man could edit like a frenzy. Every time I played these songs, I could swear my stylus and speakers would be… Read more »
We could write a book here but I will leave you with my vivid memories of the Latin Rascals edits/mixes…just superb and I am part of the .0001% of the music listening population that appreciated them (and Santana)! I also enjoyed when Santana remixed for X-Mix…hopefully you remember his contributions on X-Mix. 🙂 I think I actually like most Dub mixes better than any of the actual “remixes” that contained the full vocals.
Fred, it’s great to have someone fully appreciate multi-edits like what the Latin Rascals and Omar Santana did. That’s why DjPaulT is so important, because he’s preserving these mixes with his vinyl rips along with the full mixes/remixes contributors. Very few of the mixes I love have never wound up on compact disc, and sometimes, when they do, the liner notes don’t give them any credit. When Duran Duran released their singles box sets, the names of Omar Santana and Carlos Berrios were not even listed in the track’s information. This is such a crime in my opinion. These pioneers… Read more »
Have a Wee-haa! of a weekend Jeff . Big edits I love them too 🙂
Then can we assume you will post some Cover Girls mixes and dubs very, very, very soon? 🙂 Hooked On You and Take It While It’s Hot had mesmerizing dubs…check them out on youtube…if you truly like hard/big edits, you will be blown away by those 2 songs’ mixes.
I meant Sweet Sensation…not Cover Girls…too bad this site doesn’t have an EDIT button. 🙂
Back in the days before digital transfer of music to lossless audio or mp3 was possible, a friend of mine who did part time DJ work got a lot of Ultimix and other DJ Service vinyl. He offered to make me a mix-tape of stuff I hadn’t heard yet, and it included some very long and remixed versions of Sweet Sensations “Hooked on You,” and “Say It’s Gonna Rain,” Big Pig’s “Breakaway,” Grace Jones “I’m Not Perfect,” and whatever else wasn’t played on our city’s radio stations. I was mesmerized and played that tape until it lost it’s tone. Audio… Read more »
Ahhhh, childhood memories 🙂
Have a nice weekend Johan 🙂
Have to agree with Stefano, 1985 – looking at that # make me feel like I’m getting old…so long ago, yet still seems like yesterday sometimes in my memories. I saw this duo perform live in 1985 on tour with Kool & the Gang and Ready For the World. At that particular time Oh Sheila had just hit #1 for RFTW so the entire show had quite a electric feel to it. I think I remember the guys from Sly Fox mentioning that they were featured in a Levi’s commercial and were offered a recording contract after that. Anywqay, nice… Read more »
That is a great memory to have Thomas bet it was a cool concert. Have a great weekend thanks for sharing your memories with us 🙂
Thanks for this, Paul 🙂
You’re welcome Junior 🙂
Gosh, 1985… We’re getting old.
Great music that year, this blog reminds me of my best memories.
Thanks Paul for this track.
We just think we are getting old Stefano 🙂 Have a nice weekend.
This is amazing! I never knew about this Multi-Mix before! Thanks so much, Paul!
You’re welcome Marty 🙂
Wow what an awesome some. Not sure i heard this mix before but had the 7″ since release. A classic case of one-hit wonder!
