BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1984
“Hurt” was the third single by British new wave/synth-pop band Re-Flex taken from their debut album The Politics Of Dancing. “Hurt” debuted on the US Billboard Hot 100 on May 5, 1984 peaking at #82. The single received significant club play in the US making the single a top twenty hit peaking at #15 on the Billboard dance chart.
“Hurt” was only released as a single in the US and Canada. I have added as a bonus the “Rubber Dub” taken from another US 12″ promo. In all there were two promo 12″ singles issued in the US. One containing the “US “Emotional Mix” and “Rubber Dub” the other containing the US and UK “Emotional” mixes.

Great selection Paul. I really like this underrated band. Excited to hear this in all its 24bit glory.
I loved this group, i thought this was a great single too.
Thanks for the memories, Paul 🙂
You’re very welcome Junior 🙂

Holy cow! This has always been one of my “grail” 12″ singles. To get a super-clean DJ PaulT rip of it is an early holiday gift, indeed. Thanks much!
You’re very welcome Will 🙂
Thanks for these remixes; I’ve always felt Re-Flex was an underrated band and deserve a re-evaluation.
I agree with you VanceMan. Enjoy 🙂
Wow. I’ve been looking for this one, Paul! I have the “U.K. Emotional Mix” (with a reprise of an instrumental outro tagged on the end) on The Re-Flex box set from 2010 (released via their official site). That box contained a handful of newly remixed 12″ versions based on the original 12″ versions. However, many fans wanted to have the original 12″ versions, too, including the “U.S. Emotional Mix”, which is the version that I was looking for (even though I like the “U.K Emotional Mix” more). Thank you, Paul, for another rare, brilliant transfer/remaster! I would love to hear… Read more »
I will see what I can dig up Bellenger1981 🙂
Hi Paul!!! this is a great track, i love this band. The boxset contains de UK mix, is the same version but have a few seconds more, thank you very much apreciate your work!!!
You’re welcome Guss 🙂
Oh baby, this is one of my faves! I bought the exhaustive Re=Fuse box set but it oddly only contains the UK mix. Many thanks!
You’re welcome Mothloop 🙂
the same as you!
Paul, it’s not even Christmas and the presents from you just keep coming. I want to call you Saint Rip, the Saint Nicholas of vinyl gifting. You are an exquisite fellow my friend with your beautiful heart and giving soul. I do know Re-Flex courtesy of their “The Politics of Dancing,” however, I sadly missed out on their full twelve inch discography. Thank you TONS for filling in the gaps of so many artists I adore. Burning The Ground is a diamond mine of fabulous sparking sonic gems. You do yourself and us so proud.
Hail to St. Rip!!
Jeff
