Each June, Pride Month allows us to honor the LGBTQ+ community — to celebrate resilience, visibility, creativity, and most of all, love. For decades, this month has stood as a reminder of both how far we’ve come and how far we still have to go in building a world where everyone can live authentically, safely, and joyfully.
Here at Burning the Ground, where we celebrate the music that helped shape generations — from underground dance floors to radio waves and neon-lit nights — it’s impossible to ignore the deep connection between the LGBTQ+ community and the world of remix culture, club anthems, and boundary-pushing expression. Pride lives in these grooves, in the bold beats of self-discovery, in the joy of being seen and heard.
But let’s be real: not everyone sees Pride Month the same way. Some feel unsure, uncomfortable, or even disagree with aspects of it. And while we may not all come from the same place, this space was always meant to be about connection. Through music, we’ve all learned that difference doesn’t have to divide — it can unite. It can teach. It can inspire.
Whether you’re out and proud, still on a journey, an ally, or just someone passing through — you are welcome here. You don’t have to have it all figured out. What matters is that we approach one another with kindness and a willingness to listen. No rainbow flag should feel like a wall; it should feel like an open door.
This month, we continue to honor the artists, DJs, producers, and fans — many of whom were and are part of the LGBTQ+ community — who brought the dance floor to life, often against the odds. Their courage, creativity, and rhythm echo through every remix we post.
Let’s turn the volume up, keep our hearts open, and remember what this music taught us: freedom feels like a beat you can move to.
Happy Pride Month.

Every month is pride month to me! I’m not gay myself, but I love all my gay friends and family – which means I love all my friends and family, period, whatever their background. Sadly, I’ve known so many LBGTQ folks who felt they had to hide it for a long time before they came out. I hope a day arrives when everyone will be proud of exactly who they are. And pride month helps with that! Cheers to everyone in this community who has perhaps had to fight to reveal your true self to the world – I support… Read more »
Grant,
What a wonderful thing to say! You’re awesome!!
Jeff
My pleasure! I learned a lot by having gay roommates originally – that was my first exposure to the challenges faced. One of my roommates, a lesbian, even got married to a guy after college just to make her parents happy – and probably lie to herself to convince herself of what she thought she needed to be. Later, she revealed her true self (while we were roommates) and dated only women, and the world is better for it!!!
This is so great to hear, Grant. Folks reading comments like yours will become enlightened or maybe, rethink their attitudes to those who are different from them.
I love this place so much!
Jeff
Agreed !!! And thank you! 🙂
Thanks to Paul and everyone who supports us all as a family here on BTG, regardless of your sexual orientation, politics, or religious beliefs! Music is life.
What a beautiful tribute to the power of music and its deep roots in the LGBTQ+ community. Music has always been more than just sound — it’s been a safe haven, a rebellion, a celebration, and a language for those who needed to be seen and heard. The dance floor has long been a sanctuary where people could express who they are without fear, and Pride Month reminds us just how vital those spaces — and the artists behind them — truly are. From pulsing remixes to anthems of liberation, the soundtrack of Pride is a heartbeat of resilience, joy,… Read more »
What a beautiful message Paul! You are the best host we could hope for and we’re lucky to have you here as our guide!
Happy Pride Month!
Thank you, Paul, for being a strong voice for our community! We live in a time that feels like it is moving backwards in our fight for freedom, for equal rights, and for visibility, so having people like you stand up and tell the world we won’t be hidden any longer means a lot.
Thank you for this kind, beautiful and generous message. This month is about celebrating progress and moving forward. As Madonna sang, “Music makes the people come together.” Thank you for all you do.
Go Paul!!!
…and Ru Paul!

RESPECT is the word.
Thanks Paul. Happy Pride Month to all.
Beautifully worded, Paul!! Months like these are so important to celebrate Individuals who may feel marginalized or not feel included within this world. It’s so important to acknowledge those who may feel ostracized or made to feel invisible. Diversity is a beautiful thing!
Happy Pride Month everyone!
Jeff

Happiest Pride Month, Paul. And Thank you.
Definitely an ally! Thanks for a great commentary on Pride Month, especially in these difficult times. It seems we have taken a few steps backwards lately, so more important to speak out than ever!
