Although I love a huge amount of music, ABBA and The Pointer Sisters are my MOST favourite artists in my life. Anita, Ruth and June’s music went straight to my heart when I bought “Break Out” around the time of “Neutron Dance” and I then started hunting out their back catalogue (and discovered there was Bonnie too)… I bought every album and every 7″ and 12″ single from then on and all the solo albums and singles too… I just love them so much 🙂 Thanks for this excellent rip of this 12″… so much better than my own worn… Read more »

THANKSSSSSSSSS so much for this. I’ve waited years for a great sounding copy of this fantastic single. I forgot to request “Be There” another of their lost great underrated singles.

U R THE BEST!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! One of my all-time favorite “secret” hits. It’s too bad they never released “Hot Together” as a single. I remember the NBA created a great ad for the playoffs and RCA should’ve taken advantage of it.

The Pointers have always been a staple of mine in the 80s, especially the first half of it. Automatic is my ultimate favourite!
I must admit that I had gone off them a bit after their Contact era, and their chart slide didn’t help either.
So while I was aware of this single, I didn’t pay much attention to it then.
With a different perspective and a different era now, it is a good time to savour this to see what I missed the first time round.
Thanks Paul!
and Happy Weekend!

Too bad they didn’t give this song to Vanity!!! Just kidding. 😉 This is one of the Pointers most under-rated tracks, IMHO.
