Dame Olivia Newton-John. Lovely Liv. Brilliant singer, songwriter, activist, advocate. Icon. Beautiful both inside and out. The epitome of grace. A real angel on earth. Your pioneering work with cancer research has helped change and save countless lives. Your music and your legacy will truly Liv On. RIP wonderful woman.
beautiful photo. You don’t have to publish her in her honor, those who follow you from years know who it went to you. Affectionately, a big hug.
KTLA-5 just aired a story about ON-J:
1 aired a snippet of her new duet with Chloe Rose Lattanzi, “Window In The Wall””
2 Her 1978 US #3 Pop; #7 AC; #20 C&W smash “Hopelessly Devoted To You” is currently #1 on iTines
I used to play “The Grease Megamix” from CD, not certain it was ever released on 12”, but a track the BTG family might enjoy at this time.
Such devastating news. The world has lost a true gift. Olivia’s music was some of the first music I fell in love with as a child, and that love never stopped.
Paul, we’re so devastated here in Australia. We’ve lost a musical artist that’s woven into our national arts foundation – a proud exemplar of the talent and humanity we hold in high esteem. As you likely know the family have accepted the Victorian Government’s offer of a State funeral (https://www.theage.com.au/national/victoria/she-s-so-loved-olivia-newton-john-s-family-to-accept-offer-of-state-funeral-20220809-p5b8ke.html). Her music will live on.
You were the first person I thought of when I heard the news. So sorry. She was the best!
Paul, we always knew that Olivia was your favorite as she was to so many of us as well. Fly High Olivia, you will be missed
Truly an icon, bummed out about the news. RIP Olivia
Just heard and thought of you instantly so I came here to offer my sympathies. I appreciate you for sharing her with us
Legends never die.Rest in peace Olivia
She will always live on in our hearts and memory’s. 3 days before her passing her daughter posted this last picture.
This is a so sad feeling, when heard that Olivia passed away, after a so dynamic fight against cancer. Olivia was one of my teenage years crush singer and a romantic symbol of the 80s, that undoubtfully sealed a big era. Her multi talent and smile would show a kind and goodhearted person that brought us so many beautiful songs and movies and I thank her so very much for that joy and happiness she brought to our hearts! I am feeling so very sad like she was a very close relative of mine, thinking of back then in the… Read more »
I Had a teenage crush on Olivia in the ’70s! My favorite song of hers is her rendition of ‘If Not For You’. WOW! I can’t believe she’s gone and it’s a stark reminder of what an old crusty geezer I am!
When I found out about Olivia’s passing (from your site, by-the-way), my heart immediately went out to you. I know how much she means to you, and I can only imagine the devastation and pain you are in. I don’t know of anything I could possibly say to you or do to bring some comfort to you. I was up most of the night worrying about you and this monumental loss. Please just know that I am here for you, along with Karen. We love you very much and if there is anything we can do, please ask.
Always,
Jeff
I can only say how I remember her for the music, although her fight for cancer research is impressive. I was 8 when Grease came out and every kid in the street was mad about it. I did not understand what the fuss was about and until this day I never saw the movie. But I do remember 1980 when the suprisingly different musical worlds of the genius of ELO met with ONJ in Xanadu, the musical with Gene Kelly on rollerskates. Xanadu was the first song I heard of which I immediately knew almost straight from the first seconds… Read more »
Paul, I know Olivia held a special place in your heart as she did mine and many others. Over the span of her life and career she has affected us in ways that are personal to us individually. We all have our own special memories and reasons why we love her and as varied or as similar as those may be it is a testament to the power and ability she had to unite us all through her music, her movies, concerts and the sheer strength and positivity she showed in handling her biggest challenge. She has taught us so… Read more »
This is so unbelievably sad 🙁 Olivia was truly a lovely person. She didn’t do anything for fame or fortune, like the social media wannabees of today. She was true to herself. An honest, sincere, lovely person. These sort of people are rare and seldom pass our ways. It is heartbreaking that she suffered with cancer for 30 year! That is such a long time to be going through treatment and pain. Yet she was always seen with a smile. She was a great advocate for cancer research and for encouraging young girls to get tested. She has probably saved… Read more »

Thank you for the music and all the good times,
Ms Olivia Newton-John
Thanks to Mr DJ Paul T for his support of Olivia over the years
well said Sundenfall, well said indeed !
Wow. So right, DJ Sundenfall! She was truly a class act compared to today’s celebrity train wrecks.
Really sad..
A very likeable personality, she’ll be sadly missed x
(I know Paul, you’ve always been a fan)
RIP Olivia, of course I knew her music and movies, but never was aware how big a star she really was, until I met Pauls enthusiasm for her. Also as many here, when I first heard the sad news, I immediately thought of Paul.
Sometimes, I just wish I wasn’t a adult. I loved Olivia since I was very young, and all through my adulthood. She will be missed.
For the true fans who loved Olivia deeply, this is also very hard on them all.
I hope you will be ok.
<hugs>
I’m crying all day while listening to all his music. I can’t stop it hurts a lot.
Good evening,
I am very moved to learn this sad information.
I started to really get interested in Olivia following my conversations with Terry Climer (explanations here: https://youtu.be/TDte5ImoOg4).
I discovered such a touching human being. For a few years now, I have felt tenderness for this person who is so different.
I must say that I learned the news with your site and that I am moved.
Another artist from that great era (the eighties!) has passed away… may she rest in peace, and let’s be thankful for what she left behind, her great songs! I know how much you loved her Paul, so I can only suppose that this must be a very sad for you today… I wanted to come and leave this message here for you, I thought of it immediately after reading the news just now…. take care Paul!
It is a very unfortunate loss.
I’m sorry so much.
Its so sad to me too.
I cried today for Olivia…
When I first started following you, you featured Olivia really prominently. This was the first place I came when I read the sad news. I got the harder to find tracks from Xanadu here…and I played them this afternoon. Thanks for sharing her work with us all these years!
Very sad to hear this news today Paul. Hope you’re ok, mate. xx
Such a sad day. She meant a lot to me but I know she meant much more to you. I will keep you in my thoughts.
Sending my condolences, what a heartbreaking loss. Olivia Newton-John certainly made the world a better place. Her work will live on, no doubt through you as well.
We are all heartbroken, and with special condolences to you, Paul. We still have her music, her gift to us. Now off to play… B-17.
Heartbroken, empty, torn. Loved her since I heard her voice for the first time back in ’76 and has always remained not just my idol, but someone to look up to. I made my way to the altar to “Precious Love”. She made the world a better place with her voice, her smile and her strength. I miss her already.
I feel the love and pain of all the fans around the world.
I hope you will be ok.
<hugs>
I couldn’t believe the news this morning. ONJ gone?! She was forever young! Growing up in Australia in the 70s she was a perpetual presence. Notwithstanding her English heritage, her early success in the UK and subsequent popularity when she moved to the US, she was always “our Livvie”. She will be missed.
We all here know what she meant to you!
She was and is and will forever be “MAGIC”!
Paul, my condolences on the loss of such angelic singer. I hope you got to meet her personally while you were involved in curating the fantastic deluxe edition of “Physical”. I’m spinning it right now as a tribute. Her heartfelt songs appealed to so many different listeners on AC, country, and CHR radio stations in the ‘70’s and ‘80s. She’s finally at peace after her long battle.
RIP Olivia.
HEARTBROKEN. Such a lovely woman, forever my bae! #Sandy
Heartbroken, thanks for such beautiful music and the memories will live forever. Grace and gratitude, thank you…
Oh Paul
My heart stopped. I just turned in and switched off the lights (11.15 pm over here) when I checked my messages again. So sad. You brought ONJ back into my life and she will not be forgotten.
I will play a couple of her songs now until I can sleep.
You sleep tight, Dame Olivia. Thank you for having been in our lives.
So sad to loose Olivia. She made the world brighter. I will love her songs forever. Such a sad day. RIP and thank you for your voice and all the joy and harmonies you brought us.
May she rest in peace! I have been such a big fan of hers for as long as I can remember, but I also know that you have been an even bigger fan, so I thought of you when I heard the news. Thankfully the great music she made will live on!
She will live on through you, Paul. She was a big part of my growing up years through the 70’s and 80’s, and I will miss her.
Oh no! RIP… Grease was played a million times, when it came out, and when my kids discovered it. A wonderful artist and human being, the world is at a loss without her.
Heaven will light up with all its beauty, very unfortunate news, terrible loss, we will miss her forever, so sorry Paul, I know how much you loved her
Crestfallen to see this. Her music was a huge part of my childhood and then high school with “Physical” and “Xanadu.” And I was so excited when “Grease” came out, I made my Mom drive me up to the record store to get it the hour it came out in 1978.
Damn, I miss her already. She made my childhood a lot brighter. Love you always Livvy.
I’ve liked Olivia since the 70’s. She’s always had great songs
When I heard this news I immediately thought of you Paul. I know how much of a super fan of hers you are, especially when you had her dedicated site. Totally devastated by this news. We’ve lost a legend. Thanks Paul for giving us so many of her wonderful mixes throughout the years. You’ve shared a great deal of ONJ with us.
Sadness. She was my longest music crush. Sigh.
