Nik Kershaw (born Nicholas David Kershaw, 1 March 1958, Bristol, England) is an English singer-songwriter. The one time jazz-funk guitarist was a mid-1980s teen idol.[2] His 50 weeks on the UK Singles Chart in 1984 beat all other soloists. Kershaw appeared at Live Aid, and penned hits for Let Loose, The Hollies and a #1 for Chesney Hawkes.
“Dancing Girls” was the third single released from Kershaw’s debut LP “Human Racing”. The song peaked at UK #13, Ireland #14, Germany #21.

Love Nik, amazing musician. Many thanks for posting these.
A rarity! Thank you, Paul!
Good choice, Paul 🙂
Rather confusingly, MCA also issued a remix using the same catalogue number: NIKT 3
DMC’s Alan Coulthard did a ‘Special Hi-Energy Remix’ of “Dancing Girls (7’25”)
Lots of beats for breakdancing?!
It’s listed on Discogs and featured on youtube

but, not sadly not included on any cd compilation!
Excellent stuff Paul
I haven’t got the version of Drum Talk here, but I do have a 8 min version of Drum talk.
Fantastic 12”er. I love the Special Hi NRG 12” too – Nik Kershaw was and still is soooo good – I wish they would release a box set of cd singles like Duran and the like did with all the mixes etc…
This single was, in fact, the third one from “Human Racing” (after “I Won’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me” and “Wouldn’t It Be Good”..
,-)
third single but second hit. Nik’s debut I Won’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me flopped first time round, and was re-released after Dancing Girls to ironically become his highest charting and biggest selling single.
Nik is fabulous!
