Hey everyone,
I hope you are doing great. I have some exciting news I am waiting on a new turntable to arrive it should be delivered today! The turntable an early Christmas gift is a Technics SL-1200MK7 which is a newer version of the classic Technics 1200. I am also waiting for a new cartridge an Ortofon Concorde Elite which should also be delivered today. As soon as I have the setup in the house there will be some pictures and a new post in the coming days. I am looking forward to seeing what this new turntable brings.

For Christmas I just bought myself a Project RPM 5 carbon with Ortofon Blue and a Korg DS-DAC-10R for DSD ripping.
My friend has Technics SL1210 fitted with Rega RB1000 arm. Its a massive upgrade. Consider it Paul.

Wonderful news! Are you planning to do some DIY mods including the KAB tonearm upgrade and a better platter mat (like a Resomat)? These are quite popular amongst audiophile Technics turntable owners and they’re not that expensive relatively speaking.

Ooh, nice. I had an original SL1200 (I guess Mk. I?) back in the day. Their reputation is well-earned. Don’t know much about the newer models but I hope they’re at least as good.

Congrats for the new MK7. I own a MKII and still happy with it. My experience with the Elite: it has a very high output voltage -> 8.5mv. Higher frequencies are to present (sizzling Hihats). I was not happy with this cartridge so I decided to sent it back to the dealer. I’m curious what you say about the Elite.
IMO : It was not worth the money (399€ here in Germany). I’m using a 2M Blue, Concorde MKII Club and a Concorde R10 special Version from Thakker. My favorite is the 2M Blue.
My own SL1200 MKII is right in front of me smiling 🙂
