BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1984
“Tenderness Is A Weakness” is the third single released by British singer/songwriter Marc Almond from his début solo studio album Vermin in Ermine. The song reached #88 on the UK singles chart in November 1984.
“Tenderness Is A Weakness (With Instrumental Overture)” did not appear on the recently released Marc Almond box set Trials Of Eyeliner (The Anthology 1979/2016).I am unsure about the other tracks on this 10″.

now all you need is love letter. stories of johnny, the boy who came back I think that covers all the virgin 10 inches ill have to check my stuff to see if that all of them
Thank you Musicarchivist. I already posted “The Boy Who Came Back” 12″ which has the same tracks as the 10″ if I am not mistaken.I will look into the other one 🙂
correct, the 12″ and 10″ do have identical tracks.
while we’re talking wish lists, i’ll add “Black Heart” 12″ by Marc and the Mambas.
cheers!
Thanx Paul! Can I make you a request? I have the 5 tracks EP of “Soul Inside” (with the 10:24 version of “Numbers”, but I lose it in a move. Do You have it?
You’re welcome [R][R][R]. I will look through my Soft Cell collection and see 🙂
btw, that long mix is also on the “Numbers” 12″ single and appears on CD as a part of “The Twelve Inch Singles”.
oh and if you’re taking requests, the Marc Almond “Love Letter” 10″ has a Cabaret Voltaire remix that needs a good vinyl rip and which hasn’t appeared anywhere else to date. in fact most of the 10″ singles have something that still hasn’t appeared on any other releases.
mike b. I have that one and plan to post it when I do another Marc Almond post 🙂
thanks for all you post daily Paul, many many gems!! more Marc Almond please!!
You’re welcome mike b. 🙂
I am shaking and swooning over this one Paul. You know how much I worship Marc and you are introducing me to a lot of his catalog which is new to me also. And I see that others are clamoring over it as well. You so light up our lives with the artists we cherish so much. Marc always does something unexpected and fun. I can’t wait to check out the other songs too. This is fantastic, phenomenal and, ahem, boner popping!! I love how you give us seven to twelve inches of heaven. Wow, a ten inch!! So cool!!… Read more »
I know how much you adore Marc Amond Jeff so I am very pleased that you will enjoy this one 🙂
Thanks again Paul for this wonderful record. Although I do know a lot about Mr. Almond, there is still so much that I’m discovering over time. And it touches me most highly to have so much introduced by you. I can’t imagine a better situation because you do care about sound quality and all. And I love how so much of your devoted fan-base chimes in with their opinions and adoration for Marc. I’m excited because you said that you have the Cabaret Voltaire mix of one of Marc’s records. WOW!! I never knew this existed. I love Cabaret Voltaire… Read more »

Wow! Thank you for this. Very hard to find this, been wanting it for a long time!
You’re welcome David 🙂
Wow Paul! Another great post! I hear this version with the instrumental overture for the first time. I love it so much. You’re incredible! Thanks a lot.
You are very sweet. Thank you Daniel 🙂
I don’t know much Marc Almond solo stuff, this being one of them.
I can see why it charted so low, but he’s always been about doing something cool over something popular. Early Soft Cell success was quite an accident, so I gather from his book.
Thanks Paul.
I love that Marc wasn’t widely mainstream it makes him so much cooler 🙂
Paul, you made my day, a very big THANK YOU!!!
You’re welcome Christian 🙂
Thanks Paul. What a rarity. Love the longer version.
You’re welcome Omar 🙂
