BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1984
“Footloose” is a song co-written and recorded by American singer-songwriter Kenny Loggins. It was released in January 1984 as the first of two singles by Loggins from the 1984 film of the same name. The song spent three weeks at number one, March 31—April 14, 1984 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, and was the first of two number-one hits from the motion picture, Footloose. The song was very well received, and is one of the most recognizable songs recorded by Loggins. When the American Film Institute released its AFI’s 100 Years…100 Songs, “Footloose” reached the 96th position. The song was covered by country music artist Blake Shelton for the 2011 remake of the 1984 film. The song has also been covered by “Weird Al” Yankovic, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and the Glee cast for the 2013 Glee episode “Girls (and Boys) On Film”.

TY
ah pity must have been a cd verion or someones remix ive got in another format them
yeap good track im sure there was a 12inch verison of danger zone thou another good track from top gun
Thank you Dazz22. Actually there was never a 12″ remix for “Danger Zone”.
One of my favourite singles and soundtracks of the 80s! 84 gave us so many classic movie hits. 4 of the year-end Top 10 are soundtrack singles – When Doves Cry (#1), Footloose (#4), Against All Odds (#5) and Ghostbusters (#9). Kenny is so underrated, and he is stuck with the label of being the go-to-guy for a movie hit. He is definitely more than that! Always thought it a shame that there was never a 12″ remix (same for I’m Free), but never knew there is a single version! Always thought the soundtrack version is the 7″ version! I… Read more »
You’re very welcome Ric. All four of those soundtracks and movie’s you mentioned ar among my all-time favorites. I am sure that if Columbia had released 12″ versions for the Kenny tracks he would have more than likely had a run on the dance charts as well.
I live for 80s movie soundtracks and 84 was a great year indeed.
Thanks for the rip, DJPT! 🙂
Thank you very much for this. I had been looking for a long time… 😉
You’re welcome Sergio 🙂
Hi Paul,
Is There an Extended Version of this anywhere
Great Site, Keep Up The Good Work
Pat
Hi Patrick, unfotunately there was never an official extended version released.
Actually.. there is an extended version.. (I have it) but.. I’m not sure if it’s ‘official’.
Just look on a cd collection called Mastermix Extended Floorfillers. I think it’s on # 8.

Yeah Mastermix is a remix service like Hot Tracks or Ultimis so it is not an official remix released by Columbia Records.
You’re wlcome Dave. The answer is yes the track is mixed differently and seems to have less production than the album version. Give it a download I think you will enjoy it 🙂
Thanks Dave. Enjoy!
I love Kenny! Thanks!
You’re welcome Conner. Love him too 🙂
