BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1981
On October 16, 1981, Heaven 17 released their fifth single, “Penthouse And Pavement”. The track appeared on their debut album, Penthouse And Pavement, but it was a remixed version. The single debuted on the UK singles chart on November 14, 1981 and peaked at #57. Although the single did not chart on the US Hot 100 it did peak at #19 on the US Dance chart.
The Sheffield, England new wave band formed when Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh split from The Human League. They recruited Glenn Gregory for vocals and the band was born.
