Thank you, kind soul! xo!
great to hear the instrumental on this great 80s song. if possible in the future could you please post the 7″ of Matthew Wilder – Break My Stride – as this also has a great instrumental on the B Side.
Great work as usual!
Sadly, the 24bit .rar file seems to have a virus called Wacatac.B!ml 🙁
I have checked it on my end with ESET and no issues were found.
Yes, it no longer seems to present as infected now as of today. Thank heavens!
However, downloading it three times over yesterday evening it was reported by Windows Defender as being infected as mentioned above. I know it’s no fault of yours, Paul!
I just hope it was erroneous reporting by Microsoft.
Ho worries just happy you were able to get it without any problem 🙂
Do you have the other 12″ version (6:48 or so) that starts off with the a capella vocals? I used to play that out of a slow set and it made my crowd go crazy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAFeCk_T_hg
That version with the a capella vocals at the beginning was from the Endless remix compilation. It’s turned up on a few reissues of The Luxury Gap claiming to be the original 12 inch version, but it was never on a 12 inch itself.
This is my favorite Heaven 17 song! Thanks DJ Paul for spotlighting this amazing song! Arista should have worked this instead of some of their other formulaic cr@p.
Thank you!
It’s criminal this wasn’t a bigger hit in the UK. Martyn Ware tells the story in his book, I think they could’ve re-released it after Temptation was a hit, I’m sure it would’ve had a better showing the second time around.
You’re welcome, NouveauDance I was shocked when I did my research and discovered that it charted so poorly in the UK. On the bright side, they did manage to break through into America. 🙂
Absolute genius – one of their very best ever. Thank you so much Paul!!
You’re welcome, John 🙂
hi paul, reading minds again, i’ve been listening to their music a lot lately. so you knew. i love this song, and its one of my all-time favorites from them. such a unique sound, and everything meshes well, the vocals, the instruments, the lyrics. thanks again, for restoring such great music, and allowing us all to enjoy it. i wish they would tour the US, and do more shows. but they are not very popular here, and not many people know about them. they don’t make new music anymore, or very little. but we can always remember the classics. later… Read more »
You’re welcome, negative1. 🙂
Oddly enough I only had a vague idea of this band in the ‘80’s. It wasn’t until the ‘90’s kind of resurgence of interest in ‘electronic music’ & new remixes of the band in conjunction with a compilation album (with slightly different track listing here or in the UK) that I truly “discovered” their music and realized how many of their songs I knew! It was years after that that I learned of the Human League connection. Classic track! Thanks!!
You’re welcome, ING 🙂
Thank you for this DJPaul – I’ve just listened to these and they seem to be better than the last remastered versions! Amazing!
Thank you, Conrad-Zimmer I love hearing that 🙂
Great alternative track. Thanks for the remaster of the Dub, I only had it in bad vinyl.
How very fitting, Paul. I LOVE Heaven 17 and will see them live in Cologne on April 6th after having waited for more than two years with my ticket pinned to a wall. Can´t wait! And thank you for “Let Me Go” from my first and still favourite Heaven 17 album. 🙂
You’re welcome, Song And Dance. I know you will have a great time seeing them live. 🙂
Thank you! 🙂
You’re welcome, Bloko 🙂
One of the best singles of the decade, IMO! Thank you.
You’re welcome, Dean 🙂
I love how you are continuing with the year 1982, Paul! I just love this song!! It was played a lot on New York’s WKTU and, from first listen, I was hooked!! Such a stupendous production and those vocals and harmonies, so lush! I never get tired of this record. To me, it was the best record Heaven 17 ever released! Thank you, Paul, again, for bringing my musical memories back to life. Your commitment to sonic quality is so appreciated!! I am so excited for those who never heard this before and get blown away by the beauty of… Read more »
You’re welcome, Jeff. The only thing wrong with this record is there are no remixer credits. Still, it is a beauty and one of their best.
