Hang In There!

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say hang in there. We as a collective are all in this crisis together united as one. We will get through this and it will pass! I know that we have more than likely lost someone in the BTG community to this virus since we are global. My heart breaks for their loved ones. Please listen to your local health officials, like the CDC in the USA, for advice and to avoid misinformation. Most importantly wash your hands and practice safe social distancing. Burning The Ground will be here to help get you through this difficult time as I plan to continue posting the best in 80s and 90s music. Most of us are in lockdown or shelter-in-place situations so feel free to get lost in the music even if it is only for 15 or 20 minutes at a time. Music is a healer. For all of those who are on the front lines such as doctors, nurses, first responders, drive-thru workers, grocery employees, teachers, postal workers, etc. Thank you so much for what you do.

I love all of you please be safe.

Love & Light,

-Paul

Dear Paul,

I love reading how you and your site has touched people’s lives. These responses have been great because of the sincerity your readers have toward music and to you. I never could have imagined getting my favorite dance records preserved in such stunning quality. So many haven’t been released on compact disc or even as a digital download. I wish I could pay you back for all you have done for me personally. I’m thrilled that we are giving you love, gratitude and virtual hugs because you so deserve it.

Love you Paul!! ALWAYS!!

Jeff

Many thanks to You ; I found about your site last year, trying to figure if someone in the world had the good idea to release a fine copy of Al Corley’s smash hit. I was so amazed at the quality of your work that I instantly downloaded 90% of those beautiful things you’ve put on line. We’re getting slightly crazy these last few weeks in France ; President Macron has recommended we stay in our houses, and it looks like it’s only the beginning. So I naturally come back to you, and take the time (which i hardly have… Read more »

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your kind words.
My wife is suffering a fever upstairs.
I’m feeling not well either. But i’m helping the kids with their homework.
Your hard work and great 80’s vinyl helps us during the day.
Greetings from the Netherlands.

Thank you. You as well. It looks like here in Seattle we are flattening the curve successfully, though we are not out of the woods and there will be a lot to reckon with the those who were already financially impacted. Thank you for being a light in this time.

Thanks Paul. Self isolated here. It’s so hard being home along 24/7. I’m going crazy. I’m a big hugger and haven’t had a hug in weeks and who knows how long it will be. Music is all that is keeping me from going crazy. So thanks for continuing to share with us. XOXOX

P.S. Is there any way you could re-up the 2 Wham-Rap 12″ Singles? I thought I had them but they are not on my hard drive. Thanks again

Stay safe

Karen and I were especially moved by your touching and loving message Paul. Your site is essential to those of us who need that time away from the real world to cocoon ourselves within the zeroes and ones of our favorite music. Thank you Paul so very much. Your words are so encouraging to all of us who are really stressed and hurting by this awful pandemic. It’s extremely comforting having you and this community around to cheer us up.

Love and friendship,

Jeff and Karen

Let me say it with ABBA:
“So I say
Thank you for the music, the songs I’m singing
Thanks for all the joy they’re bringing
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty
What would life be
Without a song or a dance what are we
So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me”

Your blog is always essential, but absolutely necessary in this dark and sad times. We`ll get through this ! Be safe, Paul. Take care of you and your beloved ones.

What lovely words. I am what the UK refer to as a Key Worker but I’m far from heroic. I’m out there helping to keep things going because I’d rather do that than sit at home all day stressing out and feeling afraid. You’re so right, we really are all in this together. Right again about the music too. Yesterday I put on a playlist of poppy 78/80 disco, (Chic and their productions mainly) and felt my spirits lifted (literally). I’ve passed that playlist on to people I know in the hope that we can find a moment to have… Read more »

Hello my dears. I had Google translate this text because I don’t speak English very well. I myself come from a family that is still working now. We come from the far north of Germany. Live here right on the Danish border. My wife is a pediatric nurse in a newborn intensive care unit. It’s really hell what’s going on there right now. Security guards intercept every person at the entrance to check whether it is necessary to go to the hospital. We keep going here. I wish everyone all the best and above all that they stay healthy. Better… Read more »
