Burning The Ground Exclusive 1984
“Shine” was the first single, and the title track lifted from the fourth studio album by Swedish singer Anni-Frid Lyngstad and her second international solo album as Frida. She is best known as one of the founding members and lead singers of the Swedish pop band ABBA.
The song was produced by Steve Lillywhite, who at only 29 years of age, was already known for his work with Peter Gabriel, the Rolling Stones, and U2 amongst others.

Hi Paul!
Do you have a new link to dwl for email?
I literally just came here looking for this a couple days before you uploaded it! Now it’s taken down? What happened?
I was asked to remove it. The best thing to do is subscribe to my site via email that way when I post new content you will be alerted. Also, the links for download are in the email.
HI.Can you Re Up this,please??? Its Down.Why?
This 12″ vinyl sound much better than the remastered version on CD.
The whole album – including this maxi-version – is badly remastered.
The remastered versions of the solo albums are a disaster, all frequencies are altered so much that the sound loses clarity (early CDs have a clear sound) .
The B-side is partly sung in swedish; a very good track, strange that it was not included in the album.
Thank you Philippe I try really hard to make my vinyl transfers sound as good as they can it is hard work but pays off when I get such nice comments. 🙂
Ooh, another great one! I don’t think I’ve ever heard this extended mix before, and I’m not familiar with the b-side, either. Thanks so much for this one — you keep coming up with the most amazing stuff!
You’re welcome, David 🙂
This was my favorite of all the Abba solo singles. Thank you so much for sharing.
You’re welcome, Vanceman 🙂
So hot, do want!
This will be worth checking out Paul. And of course, Steve Lillywhite is involved and I really like him!
Jeff
Really good Hi-NRG record really surprised it did not get a US release I think it would have done well in the clubs. I really love the b-side 🙂
Thank you Paul for this special ABBA / ABBA members series. My favourite by Frida is “I know there’s something going on”. I wish there was a special 12′ version of it. At the age of 10 I started to be interested in music. My father was a big ABBA fan back then. He had collected all their albums. So I started listening to ABBA and became a fan promptly. They are still one of my favourite bands ever. Unfortunately they split much too soon. Sometimes I wonder how their further singles could have sounded like.
A missed opportunity with “I know there’s something going on” a remix would have been awesome. Thank you for sharing your comment, Daniel. 🙂
Kirsty Maccoll on backing vocals! I hadn’t known that.
She was married to producer Steve Lillywhite at the time.
