Eurythmics – Love Is A Stranger (Remix) (German 12″)

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1991

R E Q U E S T

“Love Is a Stranger” is a song by the British pop music duo Eurythmics, written by Annie Lennox and David A. Stewart. It was orinally released as a single in 1982. From the bands Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).

In 1991 the song was rereleased in Europe to help promote the duo’s first Greatest Hits album. A Trip Hop feel to the 2 mixes on the A-side, with a rerecorded vocal and a cameo by unheard of rapper J.C. 001, apparently one-time ‘fastest rapper in the world’ but he actually doesn’t do much rapping on here. The best remix is the Coldcut mix on the b-side. The 1991 remix peaked at #54 on the UK singles chart.

Thank you very much for these uploads! 🙂
It’s a pity that the “Would I Lie to You?” and “Who’s That Girl?” mixes are not available anymore… 🙁

Been a while since I commented, but this is definitely worth a big thank you!! It is sad that these remixes were never released on CD (sans Coldcut, which was on the remaster of Sweet Dreams).

Would DJPaulT have a remix of The Eurythmics:

‘It’s Alright (Baby’s Coming Back)’

I don’t know if any remixes were produced. I rate it one of their best songs. 🙂

Nope, no remixes of that one 🙁

But I agree, it is one of their best songs. I love the video too.

Eurythmics released new remixes for both Sweet Dreams and Love Is A Stranger in 1991 to promote their Greatest Hits and I bought both 12″s.
My UK 12″ for this is less superior, as it contained only the Obsession Mix and no Coldcut Mix.
So thanks for this post, Paul!
I still remember watching this video for the first time on MTV…Annie was so charismatic!

I’ll point out that The Obsession Mix is different than JC Meets The Obsessor, although based on the same remix. I prefer this one with the rap.
