BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1984
Ēbn-Ōzn were an experimental synth-pop group formed in New York City in 1981. The duo composed of Ned “EBN” Liben (synthesizer) and Robert “OZN” Rosen (organ, vocals). The duo is best known for the 1983 hit single, “AEIOU, Sometimes Y.”
The bands second single was the uncharacteristically earnest dance-rock track “Bag Lady (I Wonder)” , the video for which starred Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actress Imogene Coca. The single became a dance club hit and a minor radio hit in the US, while gaining hit status in Canada and Europe. “Bag Lady (I Wonder)” entered the Billboard dance Chart on March 3. 1984. The song spent 8 weeks on the chart peaking ar #36.
After recording only one album, Feeling Cavalier, the duo parted ways in 1985.

I adore Ēbn-Ōzn – own this, the “AEIOU” 12″ and the Feeling Cavalier album. The latter (without any bonus tracks) was re-released on CD by Wounded Bird, so up until now I haven’t had any of the remixes in a high quality digital version. If you’ve got the “AEIOU” 12″ – I hope you can transfer and post it eventually. 😉
now, this really is a treat! have the 12″ for “AEIOU”, but haven’t ever seen this one, and i’ve been looking! thanks for another great post!
Thank you Paul! I wasn’t here for a long time since I was sick. I feel better now. I’m glad that you feel ok too. 🙂 Please be careful, take care.
P.S. How did you met the Olivia’s birthday? It’s true – Yesterday I waited her music from you..
Hi spring happy you are better. I have missed your comments. Well I had to be at the doctor’s office most of the day yesterday for a check up (all is good) so I wasn’t able to post for Olivia’s birtday. But I did listen to her all day long 🙂
Thanks for this one. I had an Ēbn-Ōzn rediscovery a few months back but didn’t even realize they’d had another single aside from “AEIOU Sometimes Y.” There is a brief but interesting overview of them on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ebn_Ozn).
You’re welcome VanceMan 🙂
A forgotten gem from the past . thanks Paul.
You’re welcome Omar 🙂
